We'll use this for any upcoming last second weekend trips.
I'm considering doing some sort of Ferry trip this weekend. I'm up for almost anything based out of either Tsawwassen or Horseshoe Bay. I'm awaiting final word on whether or not the Queen of Tsawwassen will be running this weekend on Route 9. Crew members on the past trips were hinting that she would be running until the 11th, and not the 6th, as is said on the BCFS website. Time will tell though. So if she is running this weekend, would anyone be up for another day trip to Long Harbour and back? Saturday or Sunday, it doesn't matter to me.
Otherwise I'd consider doing a day trip to Long Harbour on the Queen of Nanaimo, to get a good recording of her E Major horn chord in Active Pass from onboard the ship.
3rd suggestion: a round trip on the Coastal Renaissance on Route 2.
Alright everyone, give me some ideas.

Chris, I was sort of considering a route 9 trip too, if the Tsawwassen still is on the run this weekend, but I was also sort of thinking about possibly getting off at Village Bay to connect to Swarts Bay to take the 7pm out of there just for the chance of maybe getting those shots that I missed of the Tsawwassen rounding the corner into active pass.
What do you think?

I'm up for a rt. 9 trip, on either the nanny or the Tsawwassen. Actually, if it's ferry related, I'm in for it.
I'm busy on Saturday though, so Sunday would be best. Whatever we do, it would be nice if it were based out of Tsawwassen, only because it is a lot easier for us Victorians to get to, as opposed to HSB.
Anyway, there's my 2 cents.

Anything goes. I wouldn't even mind a trip on the Renny (gasp!) since I have only been on her once.

I've never been on the Renny, but any trip on the Queen of Tsawwassen should be top priority (as well as Vancouver and Saanich) as their days are numbered.

I'd be up for a route 9 trip this weekend. Saturday or Sunday is fine with me.

The Queen of Nanaimo is still sitting at Deas. So it's looking good for seeing the Tsawwassen on Route 9 for one last weekend.

Sunday RBI shows the Queen of Nanaimo on route 9. The Nanaimo needs to be back by June 10 which is Tuesday so the Tsawwassen can go to Jervis Inlet so the Chilliwack can go up north as the Discovery Coast route starts June 10th.

Yesterday when I checked, the RBI showed the Nanaimo for today, so I wouldn't rely on it being accurate.

route 9 has extra time that they are at tsawwassen on a saturday night. don't be surprised if it is the nanaimo heading back on the last sailing tonight. quite often this is when the vessel switch is done

Uh oh... bad news for your weekend plans... the Queen of Nanaimo is now on radar... I guess we'll be having to watch her through the afternoon.

Just to confirm things for this trip....
Members who plan to attend are:
Myself Mill Bay Nick Alex Esquimalt Queen? Karl?
I'll decide once we all meetup, with whether or not I'll go along with what Mill Bay has suggested with doing a thrufare to Swartz Bay. If the Tsawwassen is running right on time, then I'd consider it. Otherwise if she's running late, then the chances of her running through the pass as the same time as the SoVI will be slim if either of the two ships are late.

Queen of Nanaimo will be your vessel on route 9 starting with the first sailing from Long Harbour this morning. Sounds like a bit of a midnight nightmare... Queen of Nanaimo is still at Dease and the Tsawwassen is safe and sound in Long Harbour ready to leave for her morning run (at least according to Siitech) And current conditions pages on BCFerries show the Queen of Tsawwassen as the route vessel this morning.

Queen of Nanaimo is still sitting at Deas.
Queen of Tsawwassen is listed for the 11:10am sailing out of Tsawwassen still. The only bad thing, is that she her car deck space is already 100% full. Just hoping the foot passenger space isn't full.
Backup plan if needed: Queen of Vancouver 12:00pm sailing to SWB. Return on the 4:00pm Queen of Saanich, to follow the Queen of Tsawwassen through Active Pass.

That's odd as of now 10:30am her car deck space only says just under 60%. I wont be on this trip.

i was basing my info on what was on the current conditions page at the time of my posting
*** edit *** RBI has the nanny back on the route tonight but current conditions page is still saying it is the tsawwassen. i find it hard to believe that the nanny will not be back on the route tonight. why would they be taking reservations for a vessel with more deck space if she was not coming back tonight?

Agreed. Here's hoping the Nanny comes back tonight. It is interesting for me to watch the shiptracking page, to see if the Nanny's "Dot" has moved yet. And it will be interesting to follow all the ship-movement in the next few days, as they do the Shuffle. ========== (off topic) Kyle: has it really been since last August that you rode the Q-Nanaimo?? Man, you must be feeling Rainbow-beach withdrawal, or maybe Nelson is just as awesome (or better). I was talking with my mom last night about the Kootenays, and she used to teach in Nelson and told me that she lived in a small apartment above a store-front on Baker Street. I've only been on Baker Street once, on a summer's day, and it was a neat place to hang out for a while. Nice old classic downtown street. (Is that really where the Police filmed their video for "Roxanne".....ha I"m just kidding....)
