It was the North's profile picture some years ago.

I can see someone doing a flash video showing the North Sinking in that background then that ship coming into the picture.

I am pretty sure that view is in Wright Sound not far from the North's resting place.

I can not say for sure if the view in this photo is what I think it is. But if I am right than the photo was taken about 7 km away from the place where the Queen of the North rests, and about half way between that point and Hartley Bay. There may be others on this forum who may be able to confirm or possibly refute this.

This would be quite ironic, if Jim is right. Here's a photo I copied from Google earth...pointed in the same direction that Jim pointed out in the photos above. It's not quite as acurate as real life obviously, but it gives you a good idea of the terrain...

Is there really going to be the Olympic Rings painted on the side? I mean... 20 years down the line.. "Hey... BC Ferries- they ended a little while ago..." Anyway. I don't know anything, but it's as if the photo Jordan cited shows the Coastal Senility going to HSB.

BC Ferries has painted logos for a lot of major events in BC's history on their vessels; albeit when they were public. I would love to see this proud tradition continue.

They won't be allowed to put the rings up unless they're sponsors. The Olympic organizing committee is pretty paranoid about anyone using the name "Olympic" or any of their logos without their express persmission.

The Olympic organizing committee is pretty paranoid about anyone using the name "Olympic" or any of their logos without their express persmission. Another similar issue: during the 2010 games, the hockey arena won't be referred to as "General Motors Place", assuming that GM is NOT a sponsor of the 2010 games. Same thing happened in 2002 at Salt Lake with the Delta Centre arena, which was temorarily known as "olympic ice centre". Sponsorships are serious legal issues.....so don't go drawing any interlocked rings in the sand at the beach, or you might get sued.....

bc ferries has had the logos for both expo 86 and the commonwealth games in 94 on the vessels so they will probably have the olympic rings on during the year leading up to the games

Is the Olympics a government sponsored event? If so, if bc ferries was still a corporation they would probably be allowed to use the logo. But now they are private organization. So that probably means that they will have to sponsor the olympics in order for them to paint the logo on they're ships. It would be sort of neat to see the new Northern ship look like that one. I really like the paint job. It is quite similar to the Queen of Chilliwack and Spirits old paint job as people mentioned earlier.

They Probably need to get the Legal Papers to use the Logo. I can see the 2010 Logo on the Funnels or on the side of the ship in the year leading to the Olympics
