Hmm... If I 'had a clue', I'd have to guess one of the Steel Electrics.

And after reviewing EvergreenFleet.com, I still couldn't tell you; all 4 (active) were built in '27.

Well I can say that SS knows most about the WSF and he got the closest but it was the Quinalt.

I'm curious, did the San Mateo run for WSF, or one of its predecessors such as Black Ball? Both WSF and Black Ball (spmetimes referred to as Puget Sound Navigation Co.). It came up to Puget Sound in tle very late 30's-early 40's. -- LB

Thanx for the info, SS San Mateo. I decided that I need to know more about Washington's nautical history to get the full picture, so I picked up "The Evergreen Fleet" and "Stemers Wake" the other day at the library; the former gives a history of the Modern WSF system, whereas the latter is a pictorial packed with great photos (including some BC ships with links to the south), and a great deal of historical info aswell.
It's interesting to note how recently (60s) WSF was using not only a steam ferry, but one from the 20s.

Time to bring back the dogwood days of the fleet. It is an easy guess but if you cant figure it out then I will give you hints.

I'm thinking Coquitlam, but I'm stretching my memory. Doesn't only one the C Class have that vent near the funnel, or am I insane? (I was actually on the Cowichan and Oak Bay today, wish I had looked LOL)

I don't know the C-Class extremely well, but I was passing through "The Ferry Terminal" website, and noticed what might even be that very pic in the picture rotation on the homepage. I clicked something else before I noticed which it was, but it was either the Oak Bay or the Surrey.

Well, looking at other pictures, all of the C-Class have that vent on the funnel. But I'm going to change my answer at the last minute to Queen of Surrey.

Well then people who guessed Coquitlam are correct, needed a challenge and I gave the challenge. If there is a photo that nobody knows about send it to me via PM.
