Bit of an update, in case nobody has looked at the site for a while. I've added a new Spirit Ferry section to the site, and it has Karls recordings of the Spirit horns. I've also added a new Queen of Capilano profile with a horn recording, short and boring, but oh well. But the latest addition, is the Queen of New Westminster horn recorded last Sunday on my trip home on the 5:45. I think the site is out right now, as someone was viewing it early, and used up all of the hourly data transfer. But it should be up and running again shortly. So, expect some delays, and wait in line, as the site is going to be busy today! Ha ha, just comparing it to a busy Sunday evening on the ferries.

That guy viewing the website would be me. It wasn't functioning properly after I heard the Queen of Vancouver horn.

Well, I've just just received a very generous donation from the member, Airchime (Alan). He has sent me new recordings of the Queen of Saanichs Horn. So, there has been three new additions to the collection on my website. Also, in case nobody else noticed, I had added a new Queen of Esquimalt recording from two weeks ago as well. I have a feeling the website will be busy for the rest of the evening now, so I'm sure the hourly allocated data limit will be used up fast. So please, have patience! I'm still working diligently to find a better provider to host the website, that will not be as much as an inconvience as Geocities can be. So have a look around, and look at the few latest updates, and enjoy! www.geocities.com/chris_iscool2001/BC_Ferries_Horns.index.html

Good God, you need a better website host. You keep exceeding your allotted bandwidth.

Patience guys, patience. I'm not putting my name down on a bunch of websites to try and host a Ferry horns site. So far I have not found a site that can compare to Geocities (sadly). But suprisingly enough, it has more monthly bandwidth than alot of those sites, so I would be wasting my time trying to set it all up on a new site that allows half as much bandwidth. Sitesled wants too much info from me, which is what I don't like sharing over the internet. I wouldn't want a website provider showing up at my doorstep, and phoning my house with updates and whatnot. I've been trying Tripod lately, but I'm not really impressed with the quality I've been getting. So I'll probably end up scrapping that idea. I also thought there was a good provider called topcities, and they allow 150 megs of space, and unlimited bandwidth. But they give you next to nothing to build a site. So, I think I may have to break down, and start paying for an upgrade to my current site. There will be a decision with what I'll do about it by the summer. Until then, I must finnish school.

When I'm in Comox, I'll take my recorder, and record the Burnaby's horn, and when I get back, I'll give it to you.

Goodness me, that Queen of Saanich Horn sounds awful! Is it really like that? I think I might have cracked a mirror when I played that. When I went on the Saanichover Spring Break it didn't seem to sound that bad?

I'm going to be doing a series of updates to my site this weekend, and even got a pretty good foundation going on the new Ferry Horns of BC homepage. I'm gonna try this for a month, and if the feedback is positive, I'll remove the Geocities site, and leaving only a link to this new address. If this is no better or worse than Geocities, I'll remove this site, and continue the search for yet another new homepage. There's not really any new content on this one, just new format. Let me know what you all think. Warning, before you click on the link, adjust your speaker volume, or you may be in for a suprise... Kindest regards, Chris ferryhornsbc.tripod.com//index.html

The only surprise I have is Active X control thingamajiggy. It shuts down IE after saying the program has to shut down because it has experienced a problem. Now it gets worse after I try it, instead of shutting the page down, it shuts all my IE windows down, any fix for it?

Yeah, that's because of the horn sounding as you enter the home page. But I found it you try it a couple of times, it's fine.
