Actually, Friday doesn't have any trips being served by the Bowen Queen, but I still say we should do a cruise, just for fun.

The Bowen Queen is now at berth 2 at Departure Bay. Apparently, she will remain here till Saturday when she moves over to Langdale...

Notice that on RBI, the Queen of Esquimalt sailings are all booked? They never allow Reservations on the Extra sailings with the Esquimalt, as it's more of an overflow sailing for the people who didn't make the previous Ferry. That's neat the Bowen Queen is in Departure Bay! I don't think it has been there....forever? Scott, get down there! Unless we do a Route 2 tour anyway, and hangout in Departure Bay for a little while...?

I am not going to Nanaimo this weekend under any circumstances whatsoever. I will not face the crowds, and be huddled in a little corner on the Queen of Cowichan.
I am sticking to my plan to ride the Bowen Queen.

You mean that they don't both take the money from those who reserved, as well as keep those people who can't afford to reserve constantly at the back of the line, when they have the opportunity to?!...Something is terribly wrong here - Who are you and What have you done with BCFS?

So it's doing Friday sailings? I can do Friday anytime.. or Sunday after about 2pm. I hope you aren't getting that from this: It's interesting to note that RBI only has one extra round-trip sailing (by the Esquimalt) on route 3 between Friday and Monday, on Friday. I'd Still go by this one: manager discrection sailings

That's for vehicle reservations are all booked. You can still get on as a foot passenger and maybe without reservations. So how are you gonna take the Bowen Queen if you have no idea when she is sailing???

Yah, really. Does someone know something the rest of us don't know? BC Ferries hasn't posted it anywhere when the Bowen Queen is sailing, have they; even as to what day? And where was the original notice about the Bowen posted? I don't see it in their news or service notices, although I know it exists.

The only indication I've seen that the Bowen Queen is doing Route 3, is on the latest news release. I guess they'll only use the Bowen Queen if it's absolutely necessary. It looks like the Ferries are going to be packed with people this weekend that's for sure though. Looks like I'm gonna take Route 1, because all of the reservations on Route 2, except for the first sailing are full, and 3/4 of reservations are booked on Route 30. Route 1 still has lots of openings, so I guess everyone thinks it will be best to just avoid Route 1.

Unfortunate that a rarity like this would only happen on a long weekend, which is precisely the time you want to avoid ferry terminals unless you really have to travel. Surely they're not going to have a crew on standby; they must know when they're going to use the Bowen.

I got confused by the Friday comments. I'm still confused. I'll go on Sunday. Manager's Disc. sailins arent hard to figure out, call BCFS or ask a terminal attendent.

To Clarify, Between Friday and Monday, RBI had, as of yesterday, only one round trip scheduled for The Queen of Esquimalt route 3. I have no idea, however, about the schedule of The Bowen Queen on the same route Cheers

Well it looks like Easter Sunday was the day. I am looking at the current conditions and the Bowen Queen was sailing today on the Langdale run as she left Langdale at 1pm 3:10pm and 5:10pm and and from Horseshoe Bay at 2:15pm, 4:05pm, and 6:35pm Today would of been the day to get on the Bowen Queen. I looked at the Langdale cam around 12 noon and there was a 1 sailing wait then so looks like they needed her today as the Esquimalt was just sailing route 2 today!
