I keep voting in these polls, because you never know when there might be a large cash prize for participating.
I am hopeful that today is my lucky day.
ps: I voted for the northern ships, as I have a nautical fondness for the Queen of the North. But there were many others that I could have chosen, for various reasons that I too (same as Doug) have stated many times before. Last year on Christmas Day, I took the Tachek to Hornby. I thought that was a cute looking ship, in a tug-boat kind of style.
Harry, for the record once again, please state is simple terms why you admire the Quinsam so much. My guess is that it was the experience of a school trip to Gabriola, and not so much the actual ship itself?

I have never been on the Tachek before but she looks like a neat little ship. I have been on the Tenaka before and she too is a neat little ship. I dont know how many of these polls I have voted in on this topic cause they all seem to be the same so this time I think I will choose the Queen of the North.

Maybe there was a pretty stewardess vaccuming the main lounge! Seriously, to me the Q-class and K-class ships (the Mill Bay too;) are a step up from barges!! That should get some of you going;)

We all wonder could it be a favourite stewardess? or just a field trip? Which is it?

Well, if a stewardess is what makes you have a good memory of a ship, it must be a good story to tell...lol As usual, my pick is the traditional monthly, sometimes weekly, C-Class vessels. Thank you and Good Night!

I would say something else. but i know for a fact that the K and Q class are purely Functionaly, and are not "Pretty" and from now on, I will not be voting in these polls, just because they are complete BS, and nothing good can come from them

Harbourlynx Teen... bravo. We are now *frater in telum*.
Quinsam Teen, I admire your fondness for conducting polls, but I'm quite curious as to what you feel they accomplish. This incessant posting of polls with little real substance is what I call goldfish posting, and quite frankly, it's getting annoying.

I must agree with fenklebaum. Isn't this annoying stuff called rubbish? I agree that the number of these polls can get a little tedious, but then again Harry isn't exactly your typical ferry fan. I just keep in mind where we're all coming from (age, background, etc.), and then choose to ignore whatever bickering and frivilous polls come along that aren't important to me. A good friend of my sister, who owns a hair salon, recently recieved a letter responding to an advertisement she bought in the local paper. The letter, in no uncertain terms, told Jill and her staff that after seeing the add she would not only never get her hair done there, but would also tell her friends to not patronize her business. Upon hearing this story around the dinner table, the consensus of my family was that this person had far too much time on their hands, and, quite frankly, likely had personal issues that triggered such a negative, unsolicited personal attack. This person didn't have any vested interest in either responding to this ad, or even looking at it for that matter. What I'm trying to get at is my own personal philosophy: "Don't sweat the small stuff!" We all have the right to our opinions and the expression of them, so please don't take this as an attack at the opinions of those who are annoyed by Harry's incessant polls; heck, even I get a little annoyed at things like that. -GJ-

Well, since you are so courious for other people´s opinioms let´s have a bit of yellow-press style posting here. I definitely do like overnight-ferries (ok I know that isn´t BF...) as there you can almost feel like beeing on a cruise but without the annoying fuzz. BC ferries: Spirit of Vancouver Island I enjoyed very much, although it was obvious it needs an interior upgrade. I liked the spacious interior, friendly color - although I thought hey must there be SO MUCH green - that you start to feel like in a forest and in the worst case you might get green in your face as well when the weatherconditions are right.
I didn´t have a chance to try any of the other ships.
I am though definitely not interested in those barges - I suspect they are not ferries - which somewhat have "BC ferries" painted on their sides too, which I have seen near Swartz Bay and was obviously on the way to some island.
Definitely looking forward to the Super C´s - I know I know... patience needed still.

Chivapcici,
As you like the "overnight" ferries - have you been on any of the Silja Line - Baltic trips? They would be the best to compare - say a Northern run within BC. Yes Green seems to be over done on BCFS.
And Harry's poll's what bloody point do they have??

Of course I been to these - Silja Ferries were my second home for many years so to say, especially the Travemünde-Helsinki route (see also and of course the famous floating Gin Palaces Silja Symphony and Serenade, the once bit looked-down-at Tallink which soon will become the King of the Baltic by - well the rumour says so - buying Silja´s Stockholm routes. Points of Polls ? Tell me what point there is for certain rags that are wasting good paper for stories about celibrities or more and more beauty-tips for women and more stupid stuff even. I much rather read a poll about "which ferry do you like" - it has more sense in it. It´s a nice tiny piece of trivia to read, I find. Encouraging discussion although not having much sense. But aren´t sometimes the small senseless things that make us smile ? OK I agree it does not fit to an informative forum and is more something what you could hear when a few ferry-buffs meet in a bar, but as long it´s not exaggerated why not having such polls. Please don´t overdo it though, will become boring soon of course.

Heard and seen - lot's of talk about Sea Containers selling - well actually having to sell the Silja Line. As for that company wanting to purchase them - I guess maybe the State will have to put some money into the pot.
Did you ever travel on the Sea Winds vessels ? Sky Wind for example?

No, I never had the possibility to travel on them or let´s say I have preferred different ships this time. I must say though, I will nowadays much more prefer a trip onboard one of the BC ferries than one of the booze-cruisers. Atmosphere is simply nicer, people use the ferries rather from getting from A to B, or "just so" rather than drinking all booze which is available onboard

That is only because of the stupid duty laws in Europe and the ways companies goes to get around them - hence offer drink at non-duty rate.....Of course only the simple mind people drink until they can't stand anymore.
The other thing is that these vessel sink from smokers also....non-smoker here...

I must agree here but unfortunatelly in case of Sweden and Finland and as well Norway it would mean that the entire population - well, I dare to say 80% of them are simple minded people - well no it´s not that, lots of otherwise intelligent people are doing this and to be honest it´s known by some crews even. This is one thing about the USA and Canada, the people do have a very good common sense, more the sort of social drinkers. I suppose you mean the vessels Stink of smoke and not Sink because of this. That´s one problem, of course. Most ships are floating nightclubs and people behave in a certain way of course. Getting around the tax laws is only possible because the Alands islands do not belong to the EU, nor does Norway.
