I voted Tenaka. She is, in my limited experience, the most seaworthy of the minor vessels, and the prettiest to look at. Tenaka's passenger amenities are pretty slight (a pop machine and washrooms) but her upper-deck lounge is better than most. Tenaka's best attribute is her destination, Cortes Island. White sand at Manson's Landing, even in chilly March- The dock at Whaletown- -- Gunflint Lake in the island's interior- --and the view to Desolation Sound from Squirrel Cove- All of these are easy to reach, thanks to Tenaka.

For her size, Tenaka is built to carry relatively few vehicles but more passengers (30 / 244). School children are probably her largest load most of the year.
Her open deck space is very limited. I think that recognizes the foul weather she usually sails through crossing Sutil Channel.

A PS:
Unlike most of the minor vessels, Tenaka is a real ship, not a powered barge. This shows in her seaworthy lines.

To me, no ship is a powered barge.

No offense, pal, but Powell River Queen (for example) is a barge-like vessel. PRQ is reliable, safe and sturdy; but she's a floating platform for cars. Most of our minor boats are built along the same lines. They are very efficient, but are designed for capacity rather than all-weather performance. And certainly not beauty, as was seen in the first Quadra Queen and our Tenaka.

Yeah the only time I was on the Tenaka it was a bit rough crossing to Cortez Island and she was rolling a bit! Kind of neat! And your right, the nicer deck is her upper passenger deck! I thought I remember those little side lounges she had, was the old yellow carpets as has been mantioned on here before! And he's also right, she is a good looking ship too!

they are mainly build for sheltered coves and inland waterways, which is why the kwuna was designed differently, but the vesuvius queen was a good vessel, and she was sea worthy,

the tenaka used to have a cafeteria/snack bar on the top deck when its was on the powell river - comox run. it must be a sturdy ship if its that small but able to run on such a long and sometimes rough run.
