Here are photos from the Queen of Oak Bay this evening... They can be viewed at the following hyperlink... pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/numatic_2000/album?.dir=/c951As far as interior, it looks very similar to the Queen's of Cowichan and Coquitlam. However, the cafeteria is layed out a little different, and the Chief Steward's office is located mid-ship...

Yeah awesome photos. I see you were on the Esquimalt too to get some photos looking across at the Oak Bay! Must be nice to be able to get on any ship like that.
So the Oaky! Just the same as the Cowichan and Coquitlam. Now if she was the first ship to be redone I would be excited to go on it. Now that all those ships are going to be the same I dont really have the urge to take a trip on her right away. I am going to have to go on the Surrey this summer as I see she is scheduled on every Sunday this summer doing extra sailings from Departure Bay. The last two C class the Surrey and the Alberni with the old interior. I have been on the SOBC the last few trips too so know I want to go on ships with the older interior as they wont be like that for too long. All the major ships are going to be the same now when all redone. It's nice to keep them updated but also kinda boring when they are all the same.

That articulating ramp was kind of neat to see. I never seen it down before! That was cool!

...and, did they fix the crators on the upper passenger deck there, like the Cowichan? The Coquitlam looks and feels like a mine field, but the Oak Bay looks considerably better from these pics.

yeah, the Oaky looks a nicer now, even nicer than the coq and cow. You'd never guess that she once had the ugly orange and green interior, that the C's once had.

Scott, I thank you for awesome photos again! She is looking awesome! What's with the different types of seats at the front and back? or are they still in their wrapping? I see they actually redid the bridge on her unlike the other two. Looks like there is still alot of cleaning up to do. Supposebly she might be in service on sunday saying someone on the yahoo board to replace the Coq? A week early? Well I gotta run but I have more to say but I see my bus coming so I gotta run right now!

I have uploaded the photos I took earlier, there at erriesrielhotos.fotopic.net/c479102_25.htmlstarting with the middle row and the 3rd photo and continuing on the next page are what I took today! Can anyone guess which Powell River class ferry that is?? Bowen or Mayne, anyone guess?? I know I am just seeing if any of you know!

If memory serves me right it is the Bowen Queen because of the comparison between this picture www.pbase.com/kstapleton/image/44526251and this picture erriesrielhotos.fotopic.net/p16090235.htmlthey are facing the same way with the Coat of Arms not showing so the Mayne and Bowen's logos are on the opposite side of each other so as you see in the photo of the Bowen and Mayne the Mayne's is on the Coat of arms side of the ship and the Bowen's is on the other side with the light so it's the Bowen

Yeah I think it's the Bowen Queen too because it doesn't have as much rust as the Mayne Queen does.

Well it looked pretty busy! I dont know if there was an actual 1 sailing wait. How many lanes at Departure Bay would it take till you find a 1 sailing wait?? This was around 11:30am so it would of been for the 12:30pm sailing.
