It means, when you take the fare, and divide it by the run time ( For Example BCF Nanaimo Pass 15$ Divide by 1.525 means that your paying 9.84$ Per hour. the lynx is 25$ Divided by 1.125 = 22.222 $ an hour). equvilant to the same run in Nova scotia aboard "The Cat" which is 48$ divided by 2.25 is 21.333$ an hour.

So many numbers...so much math hurting my brain Try wading through university level math and physics courses. Makes that "math" look as easy as walking.

Haha, last year when I was in Grade 10 my school messed up in keeping in touch with ordering them, so we never got to do them. But I still got Grade 12 Goverments next year to look forward to.

The youth of today - back in my time - yea yea I know you have heard it all before. I found school a lot of fun and going to UVIC then on to UBC a blast. You did your 7 sujects in Grade 12 and if you passed with good marks - you went on to University - if you wanted do.
My nieces came over with there friends and on school trips there eye's and views on the world also openned up a lot. As your only young once - I would travel if you have any slim chance at all. Strong Skier - you will do a lot better in coming to Euope and doing a "season" here teaching and seen how other countries ski.
Harbourlynx Kid - I think and see you working on the "Gin Palaces" in the Med for a season - great eye opener to fast speed ferries and other crafts - which would help your father and Harbour Lynx per say.
As for Karl - "Old Eagle Eye" - you could also do well on working as a AB (Deck Hand) on one of the Fast Ferries here going across to France - how is your French??

Sounds good - but then you may have found the women of yours dreams and settle down - missed the chance.
You would be worth a lot more to a operator like Harbourlynx - if you gained experience on another service that op Fast Cat type of vessel. Didn't you say that the there is a new vessel coming on line in 2008 so that would give you more than enought time to try a couple of different vessels out before your new ships comes on line - worth a though.....
Should look at a Deep Sea AB rating - could therefore go far with it.

Yeah well.....its alot more expensive than just the TC Marine Certs. if i get 2 or 3 summers on the lynx, then go there. i have RW exp to offer. and then i can come back with and international Sea Going Ticket, and Drive the lynx, then you guys can come up and say hello anytime you want.

The actual traffic numbers of people using the ferry system over here are lower than in BC. So the European operators have to offer a much better deal. It is cheaper to fly on the LCC airlines - then hire a car - or take the train via the channel tunnel - fast and cheap to Paris and other parts. The ferry buisness is fighting back - with better vessels - better fares - better food ect...
Going across to Ireland - people fly - as it is faster. The ones who do take a ferry - depends on where you leave from - but can be short trips or longer than anything on the BC Coast - so again they the operators have made the trip a lot more enjoyable. This is where they have the Fast Cats.

It seems that we are on the second generation or third generation of Cat Design and some people now know more about how to operate these types of craft - hence can get better returns from them - plus no real need for massive engines any more - due to better hull design.
