You know the Saltspring and Vesuvius Queen have good passenger decks but a very small passenger area and that kinda sucks when it's raining hard and it's a full load and the car passengers hog the deck in a foot passenger overload just my idea of a passenger fiasco

It would be neat to see a train on a ferry! Where is the MV Carrier Princess?

That would be pretty tricky loading trains onto a ferry if there was even a least bit of wind, as those trains run on a track and if it was windy they would have a hard time loading.
I saw the Carrier Princess one time in Delta somewhere at the truck ferry docks.

Kyle wins. hence why the queen has those wodden ramps. they had to be installed everytime the queen came to albion because the queen was quiet low.

The Carrier Princess is the flagship of the Washington Group's Coastal Intermodal Service. She is my favorite ship on the coast, non B.C. ferries. She is fairly fast, up to 18 knots, and versatile, carrying everything from drop trailers to rail cars, and I've never heard of her breaking down. She sails regularly from Nanaimo to Tilbury and Swartz Bay to Tilbury. www.coastalintermodal.com/schedule.htm Her schedule, CP = Carrier Princess

The sunshine coast Queen is like a devolved unlifted C-Class with 2 funnels instead of one

Yeah it is. I winder if the Sunshine Coast Queen had two engines on each end, and each funnel was for each engine.
Hey, does anyone know what happened to the Sunshine Coast Queen?

Thought I'd mention here, if someone missed my "new pics" thread post, that I've added a couple pics of the "Carrier Princess" near Duke Point. find them in the "Feature Photos" section of my site @: community.webshots.com/user/grahameajohnson__________________________________________________________________ Here's a little Trivia for you all. Have any of you heard the story of the Carrier Princess' predecessor, the Trailer Princess? If so, What was her most noteworthy duty before she sailed for CPR? I'll let you all know in a later post, If no one gets it.

Trailer Princess" started her marine career as a tank landing ship for the United States Navy in 1944 and as "U.S.S. Coronis" served as an auxiliary repair ship for other landing craft in the Pacific until 1946. She was then laid-up until 1965 when she was purchased and modified for freight service with the British Columbia Coast Steamship Service. Service with the company started the following year from Vancouver to Swartz Bay (night trips) and Nanaimo (day trips). Despite her slow speed, her excellent manoeuvrability made her a successful prototype for the larger truck and rail ferries that followed.

Sweet photos ;D The newest ones are good when she was like her sisters the Nanny and Burn an expo colour ship being lifted. Say ever think the Nanny and Burn will be lifted to look and have a high speed like the Newest?

In 1987, the ex-Susy Q. was sold to an Asian-based company which planned to scrap it. A Japanese tug was chartered to tow the ship across the Pacific in December of 1987. However, the old ferry had other ideas. On December 3, 1987, during her trip across the Pacific Ocean, the Sunshine Coast Queen sunk in stormy sea. (from Great Lakes Vessels Index - Vacationland)
