Well I took a trip over to Horseshoe Bay today. Seeing I live in Victoria I drove up to Departure Bay and caught the 10:30 Queen of Cowichan sailing. She wasent really full which was nice as it's nice to travel at a less busy time during the week, if you can that is. One thing I noticed with the Naniamo ferries, well I just noticed this on the Cowichan the captain came on, like they do on all the ferries now, but this was before we even left the dock, the saftey announcements come on and the welcome aboard, same thing on the Surrey. On the Swartz Bay ferries they announcements dont come till like 10 mins after they leave the dock. So that was different. Arrived in Horseshoe Bay at 12:05 and the Bowen Queen was departing to Snug Cove. Got off, snapped a few photos waited around in Horseshoe Bay and took the Queen of Surrey at 1:20 to Langdale, she wasent too busy either. Arrived at Langdale, stayed on the ship went back to Horseshoe Bay arriving at 3:10, snapped some more photos then came back on the 5pm Queen of Cowichan. The C class rock! Horseshoe Bay is neat. Why couldent Tsawwassen and Swartz Bay have been built in a Village instead of having nothing there as when you do the Tsawwassen trips you have to hang around at the terminal till it's time to go back. That is why Horseshoe Bay is pretty neat as you can walk around the town. Although today it was raining but still, it was cool. Saw all the little school kids/teens boarding the Bowen Queen at around 3:30. Must be the popular school sailing that trip to Bowen. I bet most commuters probably just stay in their cars when there is all those school kids on board.
