I wonder when the Mill bay does go up to Nanaimo, or deas, does she sail in open water, or is she loaded onto a cargo ship?
when they sell it, I will give them $50 or so to ride the ferry over the strait of georgia!

plus, I thought it was fresh water because a river leads into it, maybe now I'll understand it is more of an estuary.

You can say this. No BC Ferry is in Fresh Water.

A lot of rivers lead into inlets, Harry. Indian River goes into Indian Arm.

how do you think the Mill Bay got to Deas or Nanaimo, by truck? NO, by Rail LOL. Load it on a flatcar in Victoria and have the E&N haul it to Nanaimo...

I thought it was fresh water because it looks so small, it is more of a small lake than an inlet, excepth the Satelite Channel is up north not too far.

When is M.V Mill bay expected to go to Nanaimo?
and how does it get up there? Does it sail in open water?

I don't know, probably not anytime soon. It can get up there going around a series of Islands. 1) I'm guessing down the rest of the Saanich Inlet (North that is) and then up by Cowichan Bay and through Samson Narrows, up through to Dodds Narrows and into Nanaimo Harbour. 2) Another way is around Saltspring instead of going to Cowichan Bay but going up to Trincolami Channel and through to Dodds Narrows. 3) But an open water way is up by Saltspring to Active Pass and up the Strait and around Gabriola. I've mark a map here, red line is the first route I said, Green line is the Second Route, and Yellow line is the third route I said.

Yes, if you didn't see in my first post but that's ok, this is supposed to be a guess to where she would go if she went from Mill Bay to Nanaimo. Here is a definition to those coloured lines, 1) Red: I'm guessing down the rest of the Saanich Inlet (North that is) and then up by Cowichan Bay and through Samson Narrows, up through to Dodds Narrows and into Nanaimo Harbour. 2) Green: Another way is around Saltspring instead of going to Cowichan Bay but going up to Trincolami Channel and through to Dodds Narrows. 3) Yellow: But an open water way is up by Saltspring to Active Pass and up the Strait and around Gabriola.
