This is the most logical idea. This Admiralty Inlet run is one of the gateways for vacationers traveling to Lake Quinault and the MV QUINAULT is a good starting means of transportation for this.

But how is it better, on a practical basis, than the other Steel-Electrics? The boat names aren't tremendously significant for their locations or service points... it isn't like we have a boat running to Yakima, Spokane, Walla Walla, or Chelan... ;D

Got a chance to ride on the Rhododendron today. I mentioned in an earlier post that one wheelhouse looked like it was higher off the deck than the other. That's not the case. This is where the "deckhouse extension" occured (right around where the door is): I also mentioned somewhere that I wondered how this would be dealt with (wheelhouse access on the passenger deck: This is what was done: As you may have noticed in the second pic, it was possible to walk around the entire passenger deck. This security enhancement ended up blocking off the passenger deck in front of the wheelhouses as can be observed in the 3'rd pic.

Did the Rhody get some new paint during this recent maintenance period? Looks nice!! Yep. Didn't really need a full repaint though.

That little boat sure seems to hold its paint well for some reason.
I was vaguely interested in how they were going to handle the security gate issue on the Tub Toy... now I know. ;D
