I'm running in the british car rally today; I don't feel like going to the yuppie nightmare that is Whistler, so I think I'll just stop at Squamish. I'll be like MacArthur, 'cept MacArthur never returned with pictures of the Garibaldi II.

yeah awesome photos! Neat to see her up close! She is quite big! I thought she was smaller than that for some reason.

She's no bigger than the Nimpkish; only her superstructure makes her seem larger.
Glad you like them.

The yellow smokestacks are wierd. The pipe comes up above them are there is a door in each one.

In Norway you see a lot of vessels with red in there superstructure - as it shows up against a "white" background - SNOW on the hills ect...
Therefore I wonder is this why there is yellow in here scheme?? for the Garibaldi as the route she works - snow can play a factor.

Dammit! You beat me to it.
I meant they were wierd because of the door in the chimney. I don't believe the Nimpkish or the other two sister ships have that.

Shes not even owned by the Ministry. Hmm thats odd.

I'm sure it was owned by the ministry pre-1986. No point in changing colours when there's nothing wrong with them!

Yeah before 86 she was a Ministry ferry then they were all transfered to BCF and the Garibaldi was never painted in the BCF colors, she is owned by BCF and operated by the mill.

They've probably kept the paint, rather than not painting it. If she hadn't been painted in 20 years she'd look like a big ball of rust.

Last year I remember seeing her out of service, but I couldn't tell which ferry took it's place. It looked like either the AJ Savoie, Nimpkish, or the Nicola. But it definitely wasn't the Garibaldi II because it had a bit smaller passenger space. Then when the Garibaldi II came back, she looked like she had just been freshly painted.

I think she goes to the dry docks right next to Second Narrows bridge.
