No offense, but I personally think October should be a memorial to the FastCats...

No offense, but I personally think October should be a memorial to the FastCats... Well the Voyager never entered service with BC Ferries... As Jordan has already mentioned, I think when the Discovery and Explorer leave would be a more appropriate time.

It is my turn for choosing the November theme, and I'm gearing up for "Seaspan", but their freight boats, not the FastCats. (that's part-2 of a working-freight series that I've done with my flagship theme choices).
- But I'm willing to trade spots with another moderator who wants to choose FastCats for November. Or maybe we just delay the moderator-rotation for a month.....
(ps: there's a separate thread on this page for discussion of your flagship ideas.......use that thread to lobby for what you want, oh esteemed members)
We had a month of FastCats already, sometime in the last 2 years; check our flagship page for the old thread, to see the pictures.
It's tough to do a flagship for ships that were only in-service for a short time, and being 10 years ago.
I'm sure we'll celebrate them again, sometime in the next 6 months...
ps: we don't always tailor the theme to match a recent news item, except for some big things like the sudden retirement of the Steel-Electrics, or the retirement of the original BC Ferry (Tsawwassen).

Hmm. I just think its respectful to the ferry and her crews if we do this when a ferry retires or moves away. But it's your call. P.S: how do we get chosen to manage the flagship for a month, or is it only the admins that do that?

Only the Moderators choose the flagship, however you are welcome to put in suggestions in the thread Flugel Mentioned above.

I wonder if Wett Coastt will be submitting any banners of an unstretched B-class ? That would be something.

I will look around to see what vintage B class I might be able to find.
On another note, the idea of doing something on the Fast Cats... We did that a few years ago and very few pics were submitted and few if any were really very good. One of mine was chosen and I recall that that photo was nothing special. I would expect the same to happen if we did it again.
BTW, I went looking to find the thread that held that Fast Cat month & it seems to be gone. In fact there is no archives at all. Where has all that gone?

The Pacificats were flagship for January 2007. And yes, there were very few photos submitted...

My first ever entry. I think I should be proud of it. This one IS no wider than 800, according to flickr.com and Paint.Net farm3.static.flickr.com/2627/3882905289_4cebe166de_o.jpg yes, according to the rules, it does. Mod note: as of 9/28, the full-size picture has not been corrected to meet size requirements (height is 180, which is below the minimum of 200)

That's too wide for the thread... "How long until the mods notice?': that is going to be tonight's poll.

yes, according to the rules, it does. Luke, it does not meet minimum criteria for entry in the Forum Flagship ballot. It may meet them in terms of width, but the minimum length does not meet 200 pixels. Please check the rules again...

I would have to say that the Queen of Nanaimo appears to be the most original of the B Class vessels. The New West has been raised and re engined and the Burnaby has been modified from her days on the Victoria/Seattle run.

I haven't posted an entry for a very long time, but since this is my kinda class, I thought I'd enter. Just a note, if you open the full size, it's way less blurry. I think it looks way better. I might enter a couple more, maybe, maybe not, but here's one for now I took this on my very first trip on the Queen of Nanaimo. I'm quite proud of it!!
