Would the installation of hoistable Gallery decks on the CR not make sense at some point, because this would give Rt#2 mre ehicle Capacity as well as allowing her the flexibility to fill in for the CI when she is in for refit. Vehicle traffic figures have been flat for some years now. There is no justification for more capacity at this time, despite regular overloads at peak times. With regard to the tiresome complaints about the Coastals being overbuilt: We're in the midst of an economic downturn, with an attending hiatus of growth in passenger, private vehicle, and commercial traffic. In addition, these vessels have been in service from a few months to less than two years, so as a relative term, 'never' seems rather inappropriate to describe how much deck 5 is in use on routes 2 and 30. The mindset that proclaims the Coastals to have wasted space after such a short time is the same mindset that designed the Lions Gate Bridge for two lanes of traffic. With capital projects like this, or the Golden Ears Bridge, which is also laughably being criticized for not being full right off the bat, you look to the future.

*Sigh*... alright, okay... let me put this delicately: try to get a grip and face reality. Never try to debate or reason with a 14 year old who can't spell Horseshoe. ;D

Tsawassen, I admit, I couldn't get right. I used to spell it as 'Tswassen'

I think WSF was wise to not incorporate [hoistable ramps/platforms] into their Island Home vessels. I think the time involved to operate them was a factor, as was the maintenance... the return on investment was minimal.
