Update on Carrier Princess.
As of 3:15 pm this afternoon she is tied up at Seaspan Duke Point. I spotted her from the Bowen Queen today. Now she is not in dock, but appears to be tied to something other than the dock. I was on Gabriola ferry.

So, What is the plan with her then. Are they using her as a breakwater Or going to Scrap her. Why would Seaspan take her from the River to Duke Point?

If nobody buys her she'll be scrapped I imagine. There isn't room at Tilbury for her.

They needed to use the LO berth #5 at Tilbury. The Greg is still active, and keeping her in a BTU when she's not in service is not efficient, as it creates a logistical problem getting the crews around.
The Carrier is chock-a-block with asbestos, so no one will want to touch her with a barge pole. As well, she's in very bad state, as they decided to run her into the ground during her final years.
A pity, because she was once the flagship of our old motley fleet.
Personally, I don't think that Seaspan will survive, as it is following the Garbage Can model of organizational choice to the letter.

If you want an insight into Seaspan, have a look at the Glassdoor reviews. Poisonous/degrading work environment with inexperienced management, etc. Not a good mix. However, if you are comically ineffectual, nothing will bar your advancement.

Not quite... you get a preview, but you have to sign up to see all the reviews. I think it's kind of like 'rate my doctor'... most of the people are moved to post because of negative feelings.

How you think has no statistical bearing on facts, and there is a sub set of individuals on the earth who see any negativity as a form of confrontation to be avoided, or refuted without evidence, to assuage some developmental deficiency.

I was referring to what I think is a reality; review type websites, whether they be about employers, restaurants, doctors or whatever, tend to attract more negative comments than positive, since people in general seem to be more motivated to speak up when dissatisfied with something. I think your snide reply was uncalled for.

Under the category of trying to figure out a poster's agenda and style, this here is a bit interesting. Obviously a bias against a company, with posts that started with vague references, and now to what I'd call an unhelpful and unfriendly style. Just the style that I try to avoid as much as possible. So if you'd like this to be a productive discussion, please be helpful in your comments, give enough reasons/facts/background to support your assertions, and assume that people will be interested in what you have to say. And expect that people will ask you questions, and so be ready to provide responses that are more than just "here, look this up." We do things in a clear and friendly way here. And we have a lot of fun doing it. If this isn't your style, then perhaps the time is right to set up a "Seaspan Ferries Sux" Facebook group.

Seaspan Reliant passing Georgina Point Light @ the north entrance to Active Pass. 8 November 2017 I have seen & photographed the Seaspan Swift several times since she arrived in BC waters about a year ago, but until November the 8th I had not yet seen her slightly younger sister. This opportunity came late in the day as it was getting dark. It was a chance for me to test out the image quality I would get from my new camera at ISO 4000. Any word on the other New LNG vessels that Seaspan was thinking of building? Haven't heard anything new yet. Can't keep using Carrier though, she's in rough shape.

Why would they get rid of the Taglu and keep the Carrier? Seaspan Ferries never actually had the Arctic Taglu. She was on lease from another owner, at the time that Seaspan acquired the old Van Isle Tug & Barge fleet. She was always just a charter tug. I guess that the charter was up.

The Seaspan Swift heading up the Fraser River with freight from Swartz Bay on Vancouver Island. These photos were taken on November 10th, 2017, from near Steveston. This was a short time after the former BC Ferry Queen of Nanaimo passed down the river for the last time.
