Raw Spirit, Independent Seafood Canada - Alberni Inlet - 21 May 2019 Photo taken from the passing Frances Barkley en route to Bamfield.
Note: I believe this thread is misplaced where it currently 'resides'. I think it belongs under the "Other Forms of Transportation" category, specifically the marine side of that.

Okay, I am thinking that this photo is misplaced in a thread for 'working boats', but this is where I have previously put photos of West Coast launch aka Prince Rupert Adventure Tours boats. The pictures that I put up previously showed some of their fleet working in 'crew boat' roles for Rio Tinto in Kitimat/Kemano. This photo, however, was taken in Prince Rupert just before my wife & I embarked on a full day bear watching tour up to the Khutzeymateen Grizzly Bear Sanctuary (BC Parks). Though we saw no bears, we saw both humpback whales (bubble net feeding) & orcas, not to mention other stuff along the way. This is a tour I would recommend.

In the background you can see a portion of the Rio Tinto Alcan aluminium smelter complex.

I think that this boat is not 'working' too much anymore. It is, however, something to watch for if you find yourself in Ganges, on beautiful Saltspring Island.

Great photo there Jim. Now, where did they get that big round Provincial Crest?? Wonder if it came from one of the now departed 7 sisters? There's a great picture there and a back story to boot!

Dockwise 'Ship Shipping Ship' Triumph, a semi-submersible 'heavy lift vessel' loading smaller water craft yesterday in Kitimat Harbour. A large dredging company called Boskalis has now completed a three-year contract to dredge Kitimat Harbour to allow deeper draft ships into what will be LNG Canada's marine terminal, as well as the adjacent Rio Tinto wharves. It is Boskalis' vessels & equipment that are being shipped out. 23 February 2021

Gwaii Haanas II, Parks Canada vessel, based in the village of Queen Charlotte, Haida Gwaii, seen off the Haida village of Skidegate (17 August 2021)
The second photo shows the same vessel at its berth in Queen Charlotte back in June 2015.
This vessel is used by Parks Canada & the Haida Nation to travel between their base of operations in Queen Charlotte village with the large national park, Gwaii Haanas, which is located in the southern part of Moresby Island and accessible only by sea or air (no roads). The park is managed jointly by the Haida & Parks Canada.
