re Chris' photo from QNW at Duke Point:
"He ruined it for Duke Point"
Yeah, I've seen that from the upper car-deck porthole too.
I guess it was aimed at the government of the day, re the creation of a ferry terminal at that former empty point.
That funny-looking "N" always makes me look closely to comprehend what it says....

In Chris' shot of Tsawwassen on the day that he got left behind for a while:
- Why was the SOVI / SOBC in berth-4, so shortly after the other spook had left Berth-5 at 3:00pm ?

Mr. Horn, are you sure you had not gotten your prescription checked recently?

I've added a collection to my fotopic gallery for public and subsidized ferries in BC waters. Find it here: www.ferrypicsbygraham.fotopic.net/c1247173.html Including new pics from my trip north of the Nicola and Digby Island Ferry to Prince Rupert's airport

Gods but does the Chelan look bloody awful! How embarassing! Just once I wish the State could have a freshly painted ferry for the international route. Excellent photos though!

Oh, so you can. In microscopic print easily overlooked by pre-caffeinated eyes.

...easily overlooked by pre-caffeinated eyes. I, like most it seems, can fully understand - I've decided to start keeping pics recently-uploaded to my fotopic site in the Various Collections area, although only when uploading a variety of photographs, for a while before sorting them into their categories. Today's collection of recently-uploaded pics can be found here: ferrypicsbygraham.fotopic.net/c1247705.html

I was pretty certain that you hadn't been in Sidney on opening day. Otherwise I'd have been surprised that you weren't taking photos at the meet-n-greet. (That and I was looking for a tallish guy with a camera lurking in, shall we say, unconventional locations. ;D)

Because this was no open house when I was taking those photos of the Chelan at a ferry terminal, though from Canadian soil, that has a certain expected high level of security, to say the least, I made sure to be very deliberate in my actions as to not alarm anyone concerned. I took steps like leaving my bag on the shore next to the breakwater that I climbed to get a better angle and didn't take any pitures from too close to where the roadway for the berth crosses the beach, let alone not publishing photos of that same area. I'm quite happy and a little surprised that my rights, for lack of a better word, were upheld presumably after I was determined to be no terrorist or other threat, whereas BCFS, for example, have so often seemingly not been able to demonstrate the same ability.

As a footnote you'll observe the Klickitat is the only Steel-Electric with a decent-sized pilthouse.
