Now that we are all firmly entrenched in nostalgia, I think it's time for a better note on my current signature image.
The basic information is that this image is a product of extreme fanaticism on my part in which I went on a trip on my on to Galiano and spent a long day atop the bluffs above Active Pass on the Galiano side.
I was there early enough in the morning to see the old Tsawwassen coming out of her temporary home port at Long Harbour, so I was able to capture images of her going both ways through Active Pass. Two of those images have now been stitched together to form an imaginative what if? image of what it would be like to see two Sidney class ships passing in Active pass today... add some fancy text and a well-worded thought and voila.
Someday, when I have access to better software, I hope to redo this image for better color matching, so it will be even harder to tell it's not a record of a genuine event. For now, though, I am actually so content with the result that I will probably leave this signature in place for a long time, until long after the Tsawwassen has faded from my memory.
I'll leave it up to you to decide whether one of the ships seen passing is really the Sidney, or not, an, as I indicated in another recent photo compilation that I posted: Do you suppose one ship misses not seeing the other?
Also, credit where credit is due: I never would have had the idea if Chris haldn't posted his current signature of the Tsawwassen wondering where her sister is... Don't ever let him tell you he has no creative talents.

October is almost upon us, so it's time for a new signature. This month, I am honoring the Jumbo Class with this image of MV Spokane I took last year.

This Month I Honour the Queen of Tsawwassen's 48 Year Service Life with photos from her Final Summer. This Avatar Image was taken near Saltery Bay as the sun went down on her 2nd to last service day. Meanwhile this Sig Pic Was Taken while entering Earls Cove on a Beautiful Jervis Inlet Morning.

Ship-rider, I really like that sig pic. So many things about it: - the life-ring. - the text placed in the open-spot in the railing - the background showing that Earls Cove really is somewhat a cove - the early morning light. Well done.

Quite possibly. I especially like how the Queen of Sidney got specially dressed up in the mating slugs, just for your photograph...

With Halloween around the corner, I thought I would do a Halloween signature for just this week only. And, having recently visited what has to be the Halloween capital of America, I regale you with a couple of my more "Halloweenish" photos of Salem, Massachusetts. Happy haunting!

Okay it's time for a Halloween-ish sig pic and avatar. We've got the Queen of Tsawwassen. (That apparantly wants to look more like the Batman villain Two-Face) Proving Even Ferries have a dark side... And this is what your view might be like if you were standing on the Dark Side of the Vessel.

OK, folks, new month, new pic. For November, I decided on a New England coastal village scene - Portsmouth, New Hampshire - taken on my recent trip back to that part of the country. Enjoy!

The intent of adding this as my signature is in hope that the Island Sky will enter service before the new year. Either that, or she will enter service on my 'In Service Prediction' of Feb 15th! ;D

I've created a couple of Signature pictures for the occasion of the Queen of Saanich being retired: EDIT: I've fixed the grammar error and the wideness problem. Sorry about that! A nice tribute just popped into my head, so I thought I'd do another one of the Queen of Esquimalt: By the way: This is my favourite ABBA song ;D I may create one more for more of a christmas theme. Well, whether we like it or not, the holidays are here. Thanksgiving is now over (US Thanksgiving, that is), which means Christmas is close at hand. I, for one, like the holiday season, so here's my Christmas pic for this year: The image on the left is a macro shot I took of my Christmas Tree a couple of years ago, and the faded b&w image on the right is Poulsbo Place in the snow. The holly and berries is a Clip-Art image I grabbed from somewhere. Happy holidays, everyone!

Alright, it seems to be time to change sigs again. I'm messing with a new technique called High Dynamic Range where you combine three photos of the same scene with varying exposures to create a photo that has much great dynamic range than that of a single photo. My sig is my first experiment and also very Christmas oriented...

Nice effect with the pic! And nice job with the lights. What about the car? You need something seasonal on there for your commute .

You need something seasonal on there for your commute . lol...if I'm to fit in down here, I'd better strap a moose to the hood of the car. Of course, I'd better make sure it's actually dead because moose are high maintenance, and expect you to take them to all the best parties...

Guess you are calling me a moose then . A wreath wired to your front grill would suffice - or even more in keeping with your personality one of those Santa suits that look like you shut him in the trunk .
