Northern Expedition high and dry in the drydock. April 7, 2023
From this view it looks like the Coastal class and Spirit class combined. Coastal funnel, Spirit bridge, etc..

Northern Expedition is Port Hardy bound! Appears she snuck out of Deas in the early hours this morning and is now northbound in Johnstone Strait.
Wouldn’t have noticed myself had I not spotted her off Texada on my drive to work this morning.

My own small boat experience is that Humpbacks are the dumbest cetacean of all literally surfacing Right In Front of speeding boat like they have no idea what's about to happen - I've had some frightening experiences with them. Given the exponential increases in Humpback population we can expect more bad news and smashed bloody carcasses washing upon BC beaches in years to come.

Optimistic? You're being kind, Jim. It's 930 miles from Vancouver to Prince Rupert. Doing it in 12 hours, you would have to average 77 miles, or 124 kilometers, per hour.

You bet I am being charitable. After 45 years of living in Kitimat I know how long it takes, & Rupert is an hour more than the time required to get to Kitimat. And its not summer. Short daylight, winter roads, etc. It’ll take them 18 hours.
