We have some old ones on the BC Ferries side of the forum. Specifically, that topic is called lolferries. While that topic has not been active in a few years, this will be fun to see what new memes we can think up! ;D

Came up with this one last summer after a particularly crowded 4:20PM crossing out of Seattle on the M.V. Kitsap. Thankfully it was a sunny day on that crossing, or else the people forced to stand or sit out on the pickleforks would've got drenched. The photo, OTOH, was taken a year prior.

That's the BEST one you've come up with, SolDuc! So funny! But I don't get the one with the seagulls and the Kaleetan. would you mind explaining that to me??

But I don't get the one with the seagulls and the Kaleetan. would you mind explaining that to me?? You have to take a crossing on the Kaleetan to really 'get' it. In short, it's likely the only ferry on the Sea/Brem run to receive a constant seagull escort, and most often it's a dozen or more seagulls at a shot, crossing along with the Kaleetan. Happens most on warmer days

Do seagulls only follow the Kaleetan on the Seattle-Bremerton route?

Do seagulls only follow the Kaleetan on the Seattle-Bremerton route? For the most part, yes. Main reason is that there's a guy on the Kaleetan as a regular rider, who always seems to feed the seagulls out of his hands (or mouth, ummm...). The Kitsap has it to a lesser degree but the Kaleetan sees it the most. The video below, I shot in February 2011. Very, very, very cold that day, yet the seagulls were out in full force!

I bet the seagulls enjoy the change in scenery offered by the Kaleetan, instead of hanging out at Ivar's all the time! Either way, it's free food for them; yay!!

Well, yes, I try to do my best at doing some here but it would be greatly appreciated if some people made their own...would be more interesting in my opinion. Most pictures on the WSDOT flickr are under creative commons, thus you can download them and make memes out of them as long as you attribute the photo to them.

Stehekin is a small town on the north end of Lake Chelan. There is a passenger ferry that sails up and down the lake, but that meme is making a joke that the Chelan is the ferry to Stehekin.
