I have say San Francisco Bay Ferries is actually coming up with a good idea to bring back ridership on ferries after COVID 19 is done by reducing fares for year starting in July 1, 2021 and ending July 1, 2022 if the board of directors does nothing. They are increasing service in midday on all routes excluding South Francisco, I don’t think that will change but peak periods will probably go back to normal amount of sailing: sanfranciscobayferry.com/recovery

I've spent the last few months riding around the Bay, logging and photographing every public. Here are a couple pages worth of info on every San Francisco Bay Ferry and Golden Gate Ferry vessel. bartcars.weebly.com/sf-bay-ferry.htmlbartcars.weebly.com/golden-gate-ferry.htmlI'm hoping to finish writing up a similar essay on the post-89 Earthquake ferries (the early days of the modern East Bay ferry network). Also, coming soon - paper models of the Dakota Creek cats: WSF, BayLink, SFBF, GGF.

Why can the MV Marin carry 750 passengers compared to her sisters 630 passengers capacity? Has this always been the cases?

The three Spauldings were all originally certified for 750 passengers. The recent rebuilds reduced the seating on the lower deck (tons of bike parking space), and there are some seating differences between Marin and Sonoma. I think all three of them only carry 630 max, but the GG District site stills says 750 for Marin.

Why are MV Napa and MV Golden Gate in San Diego? Most likely in for servicing. MT shows the GOLDEN GATE on dry land while the NAPA is dockside at the same facility.

The Spauldings still have a very high capacity, compared to the cats. Some of the space seems to be taken up by bike parking and some seating changes it appears. Not that boats fill to capacity nowadays. Ridership is pretty light (some runs on GGF have less than 20 people onboard). Noticed a few runs on the SF Bay Ferry with 1-3 passengers. Golden Gate and Napa are out for "dry docking." The Mendo was down south before these two, and they said it was out for "annual inspections."
To note, Mendocino is an excellent platform for taking photos of other ferry boats.

They are in the early step of getting RFPs for engineering and design of a new vessel.

The former San Francisco ferry BERKELEY shows off her beautiful interior in this online puzzle (use the left button to move the parts and slate around and the roller to zoom in and out). www.jigidi.com/jigsaw-puzzle/vs3b691d/maritime-museum-berkeley-ballroom-with-my-sister/This was the Oakland End of the ferry. They took out some of the benches in this location and laid down a dance floor for social gatherings. In this area is the snack counter. The main dining saloon was located below decks on the Orlop Deck. Neat old 1898 ferry this is.
