How did you get up there? ferry or drive? I am curious. I didn't notice much road traffic except tour buses and the odd truck. I drove the length of Hwy 37 from my home in Kitimat to where that highway joins the Alaska Hwy in the Yukon, just west of Watson Lake. I then drove west on the Alaska Hwy almost all the way to Whitehorse before going south to Carcross, Fraser & Atlin. All paved roads with good to okay surfaces. Following that I drove Yukon's Klondike Hwy north to Dawson, and then the gravel Dempster Hwy north all the way to the 'Frozen Sea' at Tuktoyaktuk. I was 'following in the footsteps' of Alexander Mackenzie & a young explorer named 'Mike C'.

Thanks for posting that, Paul... that was a good read. The writer really takes into account all the different aspects of a possible revival of the rail link to Whitehorse... it's very rare that you read an analysis of this type where it seems to be an unbiased accounting of the pros and cons and possibilities, for the most part untainted by advocacy.
