1. wow. fantastic shot. totally appreciate the bravery of you in a kayak to get this for us! 2. why are both spirits heading in the same direction? or is this some kind of magical photog vodoo here? They are going opposite directions, it's just the angle!

Island class vessels pass off Duke Point, Nanaimo. This shot was taken from the Queen of Alberni just prior to departure from Duke Point. Pity that the Gwawis did not come along a few seconds earlier ... 6 September 2023

C-class sisters Oak Bay & Surrey coming & going in Howe Sound near Horseshoe Bay. On this day both vessels were serving on the Langdale - Horseshoe Bay Route using their lower level car decks only due to having to use the alternate single level berth at Langdale. The main bi-level berth at Langdale is being worked on.

Must have been quite the broken whistle party! The Celebration actually sounded quite good! The Inspiration was definitely broken though

Nanaimo, the busy harbour ...
12 February 2024
Nanaimo has the most ferry terminals of any location on our coast. There's Departure Bay, the downtown terminals for Newcastle Island, Protection Island, Gabriola Island, Hullo, and the barge terminal on the old CPR property... and then there's Duke Point, and the Seaspan terminal south of there. Makes me wonder what the theoretical maximum might be for most ferries visible in one shot.

I think its conceivable for six ferries in one shot with the IC twins, one of the Route 30 boats, a Hullo ferry, a Seaspan vessel & a Protection Island boat. Seven maybe if that Euro hotel hangs around much longer ...

An old 60's ship and a more modern late 2000's ship. One breaks down less than the other, and it's not the one people might think
