Okay, you guys, I need your help. I live in Esquimalt (practically in Victoria) and I need to get to the Comox (Little River) ferry terminal for a Queen of Tsawwassen roundtrip. The problem is that I don't know how to drive. I was considering taking a charter bus, but apparently it does not go straight to the terminal. I am absolutely terrible at planning trips, what do I do? Does anyone want to come along with me? I will pay for your gas and ferry fare!

Wow! A very kind gesture offering to fund such a trip. In case you can't find such a companion, here are some options that I have found for you. Getting to Courtenay/Comox can be done by bus or train. (Is the train still running on a daily basis?) Bus info can be found here. Train info can be found here. Look for the fares as well for each mode of transport, and the duration of travel for each. Now, once in Courtenay, there is a transit bus route #11 that goes from Courtenay to Little River Ferry Terminal. NOTE: it doesn't run on Sundays. That info can be found here. The cost is only $1.50. I haven't taken any of these routes before. . .I just know they exist and, well, searched for Comox Valley Transit and found that transit route because I didn't know if it existed either! For a semi-major ferry terminal I figured there had to be something though. I'm sure there's a walk involved from the coach bus or train station to the transit bus location when you arrive in Courtenay, but a little stroll will be required after all that sitting on a bus or train!

Ms. Queen of Esquimalt,
If you're looking for a travelling companion, here's another option to consider. During our last group trip on the Queen of Tsawwassen on the Jervis Inlet, we were discussing when to do a group trip on the Queen of Tsawwassen again on Comox - Powell River. I'm surprised there hasn't been a posting about it yet. I'll check the calender in a minute, and make a posting about it on the group trip section of the forum.
Usually when we do a group trip which include heading up Island, we all try and meet in Nanaimo (Departure Bay/Duke Point) and then carpool for the trip up Island. Your luck on your location couldn't have been any better, as there is usually some forum members from Victoria included on forum trips. Perhaps one of them would agree to allowing you tag along with them.
Anyways, it's your choice as to how/when you do this trip. I'd recommend you try and go with the group trip, as it will make the travel alot easier and more enjoyable. I'm proud to say that we haven't come across any bad experiences with annonymous cyberspace people during our group trips. So you shouldn't have anything to worry about, if you're concerned about who we really are.

I am very pleased that I started a thread about this. What would I do without you guys? I would definitely love to come along on the group trip. If I can have at least 5 days to a week's notice, I am sure I can get the time off work for this. I've never had the chance to travel on the Tsawwassen, and now I am super excited that I will finally get the chance!
