I am sick and tired of businesses advertising Christmas in a month that Christmas doesn't even fall in. If I had my way, there would not be any trace of Christmas in any business before the 1st of December. They're celebrating Christmas in the US, and they haven't yet even celebrated Thanksgiving—which falls on the fourth Thursday in November—and I see that as disrespecting Thanksgiving! What gives???

What is wrong with getting into the Christmas season early??? December 1st would be pretty late to be getting into the Christmas season. I know some Seattle radio stations start playing Christmas music in time for the american Thanksgiving. Usually once Halloween is over and done with all the Christmas stuff starts coming out. People start Christmas shopping and getting ready for the holidays. Thanksgiving is a holiday. The holiday season is near which in the US I think is neat having Thanksgiving so close to the Christmas Season. So I have no problem with businesses advertising christmas a month in advance. Where I work we are starting to put up Christmas decorations now. I like hearing the Christmas music and seeing all the decorations going up as this is my favorite time of year so yeah it dosent bother me. One thing that really pisses me off is people who complain, especially about the Christmas music everywhere. It only comes once a year so what is the problem. A nice change from some of the crap music we hear were I work.

Sounds like somebody needs to stop taking the grumpy pills and just accept that the Christmas season - commercially - begins in November. Besides, in Canada what other great opportunities are there to make money on as a retailer in this month? There could be worse things happening than not being able to stand holiday season ads! One of our staff had his home burnt down in Coquitlam this morning! Now he is without a home until things get sorted out. That is something that can bring a person down. Take those ads with a grain of salt and feel good about the things that you have in life, even the little things. Doctor Nickfro

I'm disappointed in this thread.
From the thread title, I thought we'd be talking about a pervert in a Santa-suit at a shopping-mall. ;D

Between people lurking in bushes and now Santa Creeps, this forum is going to the dogs. Woof.

Yeah, there's just one problem.
If you read the lovely fine print just from the URL, this dates back to 11/22/2002.
"CBS) This segment was first broadcast on Nov. 24, 2002."
It is all about $$ and with bleak sales outlooks, they want to get good retail in as soon as possible, but that is not gong to happen until you stabilize employment.
