Thanks much for the Thanksgiving wishes. I, for one, did enjoy the day today, and stuffed myself silly, of course! I spent the day with friends down in Gig Harbor, and was grateful that I wasn't heading toward the Narrows Bridge when I left their house. The lineup on eastbound 16, heading towards the toll plaza, was extensive tonight - backups as far as Purdy. Fortunately for me, I was going the other direction, so all's well that ends well. And, the sign post on Hwy 3 north of Silverdale was flashing a 1-hour wait time for the Kingston Ferry, as of 9:30 tonight. Once again, not my problem - at least not today. Happy Thanksgiving!

Being the designated maker of Thanksgiving dinner again this year meant the farthest I got from home was the end of the driveway. And for that I give a great deal of thanks! Oh, that, and I give thanks for the fact I had the foresight to put a new screen on the sliding door this past spring meaning I could open the door when the kitchen got too hot unlike last year when the air kept kicking on! ;D We had a nice little group of eight for dinner, with a few stragglers popping in later in the afternoon to help polish off the desserts. Leftovers now populate the fridge, and I don't think we'll be doing any cooking for about a week.

Obviously you didn't overdo the rum in the eggnogg and the caloric sludge in your blood hasn't dulled you too badly today. heh heh heh...we've all heard of antipasto, anti gravity. antimatter, and Auntie May...I guess I had anti-tryptophan last night because I woke up even more sharp and sarcastic than usual today... *moving right along to smart asset: after looking at the wiki site for Tryptophan, I realized there is a variant possible if you relocate the amine oxide group (then I read the text of the wiki entry and realize this has to be the D-stereoisomer, d-tryptophan). This is pretty cool because while l-tryptophan will make you groggy, d-tryptophan is an essential peptide found in many marine animal poisons. Careful, I heard there's some bad amino acid going around...groan...
