Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year to all the members and staff of this awesome forum.
Pretty diverse bunch indeed. It's interesting to see all the different characters that are brought together by ferries.

This is probably the best place to put this. My Christmas Poem that I got from and old Dolphin Newsletter.
It's that time of year again so I will post it.
A little christmas poem
T'WAS the night before CHRISTMAS and all through the fleet The ships were tied up, every sailing complete All the stockings were hung by the funnels with care In the hope that Saint Nicholas soon would be there Then to what the crews' amazement appeared But a miniature sleigh and eight tiny reindeer The jolly old driver looked kind of distressed In fact this old Santa seemed downright depressed "I'm looking for help," he said to the crew "My reindeer are tired and my sleigh's broken too To get to the islands, there's only one way I hope BC Ferries can help save the day"
The crew said, "Okay, we can sure island-hop But we think your request should go straight to the top" As I and the missus were getting ready for bed The crew phoned are home about the man dressed in red "Of course we'll help out," said I to the crew "It's customer service, the least we can do!" Soon they were busy delivering toys For our men and our women it brought so much joy And througout the islands, what a wonderful sight
As the SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS sailed through the night.

Merry Christmas, everyone. In following Koastal Karl's footprints here, another "ship" related Christmas poem - this one will resonate especially well with all of you Star Trek: Next Generation fans out there. Someone sent this to me several years ago - I don't know who created it, or where it came from:
> THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS-STAR TREK STYLE > ========================== > 'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the ship > Not a circuit was buzzing, not one microchip; > The phasers were hung in the armory securely, > In hopes that no aliens would get up that early. > The crewmen were nestled all snug in their bunks > (Except for the few who were partying drunks); > And Picard in his nightshirt and Bev in her lace, > Had just settled down for a neat face-to-face... > When out in the halls there arose such a racket, > That we leapt from our beds, pulling on pants and jacket. > Away to the lifts we all shot like a gun, > Leapt into the cars and yelled loudly, "Deck One!" > The bridge Red-Alert lights, which flashed through the din, > Gave a lustre of Hades to objects within. > When, what, on the viewscreen, should our eyes behold, > But a weird kind of sleigh, and some guy who looked old. > But the glint in his eyes was so strange and askew > That we knew in a moment it had to be Q. > His sleigh grew much larger as closer he came. > Then he zapped on the bridge and addressed us by name: > "It's Riker! It's Data! It's Worf and Jean-Luc! > It's Geordi! And Wesley, the genetic fluke! > To the top of the bridge, to the top of the hall! > Now float away! Float away! Float away all!" > As leaves in the autumn are whisked off the street, > So the floor of the bridge came away from our feet, > And up to the ceiling our bodies they flew, > As the captain called out, "What the hell is this, Q?!" > The prankster just laughed and expanded his grin, > And then just as quickly, he vanished again. > As we took in our plight and were looking around, > The spell was removed, and we crashed to the ground. > Then Q, dressed in fur from his head to his toe, > Appeared once again, to continue the show. > "That's enough!" cried the captain, "You'll stop this at once!" > And Riker said, "Worf! Take aim at this dunce!" > "I'm deeply offended, Jean-Luc," replied Q, > "I just want to celebrate Christmas with you." > As we scoffed at his words, he produced a large sack. > He dumped out the contents and took a step back. > "I've brought gifts," he said, "just to show I'm sincere. > There's something delightful for everyone here." > He sat on the floor and dug into his pile, > And handed out gifts with his most charming smile: > "For Counsellor Troi, there's no need to explain. > Here's Tylenol-Beta for all of your pain. > For Worf I've some mints as his breath's not too great, > And for Geordi LaForge, an inflatable date. > For Wesley, some hormones, and Clearasil-Plus; > For Data, a joke book; for Riker, a truss. > For Beverly Crusher, there's sleek lingerie, > And for Jean-Luc, the thrill of just seeing her that way." > Then he sprang to his feet with that grin on his face > And with a snap of his fingers, disappeared into space. > But we heard him exclaim as he dwindled from sight, > Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good flight!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year..! to all forum members. As I type this, at Merry Island on the Sunshine coast I look out the living room windows at an angry Georgia strait raining with winds gusting to 36 knots..! Wishing everyone peace this holiday season.

Merry Christmas everyone!
I'm currently at my dad's on Indian Arm, where the snow is coming down hard and all I can think of is how epic the ski conditions will be when this storm is through. My alter-ego, Reiks Latsaoc is enjoying the ski conditions in Slovenia and he's looking forward to spending Christmas with the entire Latsaoc family.
Here's to another year on the West Coast Ferries Forum! It's great to have such a diverse bunch from across the province and around the world.
From the Skier family, have a merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

A ferry merry christmas from a snowed-in North Delta... we have 2 feet of snow and counting, it's getting pretty brutal out here. A white christmas... just a little too white for me

Trade you snow for rain! The 15-18" we had before has dwindled very quickly, as it is now steadily raining.
Again, Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays to everybody!

[glow=red,2,300] MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM FERRYNUTSEATTLE![/glow] Still in progress in my FS Design Studio, the scenery object addon VASHON is joined by my float plane in "Snow Mode" in MS Flight Sim X. I can do a snowy flight on FSX anytime I wish to, even on Christmas day. Also in my FSDS is one in progress of the STEILACOOM II and the new Keystone ferry. Look for initial screen captures soon. Wishing you all the joys and happiness this Christmas and best wishes in the new year!

Greetings from my family home in Kelowna, where temps are still well below freezing. I'm thankful I booked my flights with Westjet, because it seems like all of Air Canadas flights to and from Kelowna have been cancelled since I arrived on Sunday evening. I hope I don't get stuck on a plane again for hours waiting to get off the ground like I did on Sunday.
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.

Merry Christmas to all who celebrate it! I wish a great holiday season to all of you. Yes, you too, over there! For that warm, holiday feeling, I leave you with 16 inches of snow on the ground in front of our condo: It sets some sort of modern record for snow on the ground for Portland. I'll gladly send you all you want -- cheap!

Compliments of the Season to forum members and guests. I just got home from a run in upper Howe Sound. Snow and Light to moderate Northerly .... considerably better than last week! While I was out I got to thinking about all the people that work shifts and keep "the world turning" 24 /7. Special Holiday Greetings to all of those people and their families. Looking forward to a prosperous and healthy 2009 for all.

Pacific turkey (turkey with BC Ferries Clam Chowder stuffing)? Turkey with Triple O Sauce instead of cranberry? Be thankful my typing is currently is limited due to stitches or I could have gone on further!
