I heard on the radio this morning that all roads into Sooke(as well as Jordan River and Port Renfrew) have been cut off from Victoria by rising flood water, no idea of when the roads will be reopened.

Yes, this is true...I chuckled when I saw the comment about Gilligan's Island in the NorEx thread, as this is reflected in my sister's tag line in Facebook right now while she waits out the 3 hour flood...

I see that they are able to travel between Sooke and China Beach, but that's it as there is a mud slide near China Beach. Massive flooding is surely an issue too! Drive BC's Major Events Page is showing all sorts of Highway closures across BC. Mud slide closures: - Highway 1 closed Eastbound between Chilliwack and Hope
- Coquihalla closed about 10km north of Hope
Avalanche hazard closures: - Crowsnest Highway 3 between Hope and Manning Park Lodge
- Highway 1 between Sicamous and Golden
- Crowsnest Highway 3 in a multiple areas between Christina Lake and Creston
- Parts of numerous Slocan Valley & Arrow Lakes highways (Hwys. 23, 31, 31A)
This warmer weather and massive amounts of precipitation is doing its damage across the province on BC roads.
