I've been meaning to post this for a few months now. I've finally found the time to do so.
Next time you're on your way into Departure Bay, take a close look at the Island you pass on your way into or out of the bay. It's on the opposite side of the gap that Newcastle Island is on. It's hard to miss at the moment with the massive, "For Sale" sign on it. I found this property to be particularily intriguing due to the proximity to a fairly bustling Ferry terminal, and the fact that it's and Island that you can claim to yourself.
So I did of research on MLS to find the Island for sale, and sure enough I did. The MLS includes a number of photos of the 3354sqft, 4 bedroom, 5 bathroom, home that is situated amongst the trees on the 9 acre Island. It even has it's own dock, to park your boat at. I was speculating the fact that it's an Island, the price of it would only be something Jim Pattison can afford. However, the price was a little better than I thought, for $5,900,000. Sure that's a little outrageous to consider, but it's cheaper than a lot of homes that are for sale in Whistler because of the almighty "Olympics".
Just think if we all pooled our money together, and mortgaged the rest of it, we could own the Island. Then we'd subdivide sections of it so everyone can have their own little house which would have perfect views of the Departure Bay Ferry terminal, as well as close ups of the Ferries coming and going. I could see the posts on the forum with NewFlyer posting constant photos of the Coastal Renaissance coming and going in different light exposures. Then there's Flugel Horn and Mrs. Horn providing trip reports of exploring Jesse Island, and counting how many Bald Eagles they saw during their travels. Ferrynutseattle would have the entire Island rigged with Webcams, providing every possible angle of Ferries coming or going. Coastal Skier could set up a half pipe somewhere, with a snow making machine so he can practice skiiing in the middle of summer.
Ohhh I can dream right?
Check it out for yourself!
