I noticed several announcements at the WSF Site discussing the low tides being experienced at Puget Sound over the next several weeks. Are there any other landings besides Keystone that have to cancel trips because of low tides. Do the low tides have more impact on the fleets larger vessels? One announcement mentioned that the MV Issaquah is running late on the Vashon/Southworth route because of low tides, but there is no mention of the two smaller vessels on the run.
Also.........Have very high tides ever caused problems with vessel landings?

I don't think there are any other routes that have to cancel trips due to low tide. It was an issue at Mukilteo at one time (the dock had to be modified to allow Issaquah-class vessels to dock there).
I think one of the service bulletins mentioned that the Sealth was running late as well.

It does occasionally play hell with the landings, mostly in terms of cross-current. If there's a 3-knot current ebbing in front of the Anacortes dock, it's a question of how hard the back-eddy is running and where it starts, for instance. Those of us who work up here know about the challenge and are ready for it. More than that, however, it makes life difficult for the 'low-boy' type truck-and-trailers trying to get over the hinge at the top of the apron without bottoming out.
