I was just in touch with the person who just won that bid. I'll give you one guess as to which member just got it? It wasn't me, but SHE (hint hint ) told me her first bid was $7.00, and was battling with 2 other people for it.

I just got my dogwood flag in the mail a few minutes ago!!!! It smells like it's been sitting in someone's attic for quite a while. I like the musty smell, because it reminds me of V-Class ships.

Can I post pics of items I've bought on ebay and other online sites, or is this a thread for items that are currently for sale? I don't know if I want to invite people to a bidding war with me

Alrighty, I finally took some photos of the new addition to my collection of BCFC fun stuff. From the photo on ebay, it had looked as if had never been used. After receiving it, I've found that it has a hoisting rope (that's what I'm calling it) attached to it, which even has a little rust on it. Here's a cheesy pic of me with the flag:

Nice flag! Needs a bit of ironing though Yeah, yeah, I know I won't be ironing it for a while now. It's going back into the box I received it in until my room is finished being fixed up. Here's another gem I picked up on eBay during the summer, an AMHS toy boat. Here's the box it came in. It also came with stickers with the names of all the ships in the fleet, so I can name her to my liking. She came with a mast that has to be clipped on after removing it from the box: Bow View: Her top lifts off to reveal her battery compartment: Her battery terminals are toast, but I'm sure that's easy to fix: I am quite aware that the colours are off with this boat, but I don't care. It's not often that I come across a toy ferry that actually looks similar to an actual ferry. It's too bad BC Ferries can't get their act together and make toys that look like their ships.

That is one of the Best Ferry Toys I've ever seen! How many years does it go back? What better way is there to take a little bit of Spaulding with you?

I am thinking about this. I have a USN Nimitz ball cap, HMCS Toronto and Quebec City ball cap, a Russian Navy officers hat, and a Russian Sailors cap. Might be nice to have a BC Ferries one, even if it is the touristy kind.

While not on eBay, this topic seems like the most logical place to put this... Does anyone want the Basto 1's lifeboat..? www.bcauction.ca/open.dll/welcome
Select Browse for auction items, it is the first item under Boats & Nautical.

Doesn't Say "Queen of Chilliwack", not worth 10$. Its not a lifeboat it is the service boat that was stored opposite the spare anchor on the MCD. She had classic steel lifeboats as her main lifeboats and a inflatable boat as her rescue boat. The fiberglass boat was used to do service work to the outside of the hull and the ramps. Back in the Day she had to be self sufficient as there was little in the way of shore-side servicing available in Moss.
The story is that BCF left it where it was for the trip over and then they broke it when they tried to bring it down from its harness once she got over here. Ive seen the hull it will float, for about 10 minutes and then you'll have a sinking feeling.
NOW if they were pawning off one of her real davit launched lifeboats I'd jump on that.
Cheers,

Not the same. I could get a POS fiberglass boat in yarrow for 50 bucks and do the same and it still wouldn't mean anything.
