Might as well get the ball rolling a couple of days early regarding this.... On behalf of the Administration and Moderators of WCF, I'd like to wish WCF a happy 7 year anniversary. Thanks to all of those who participate in the discussions, and those contribute some amazing photography. This forum wouldn't be what it is today if it wasn't for you. Also thanks goes out to the Moderators for their dedication to ensure a healthy discussion amongst all of the boards. Finally, last but not least, thanks goes out to John H, the forum creator for laying down the foundation for this forum 7 years ago. Cheers PS: Here's a blast from the past of what this place was like 7 years ago. tiny.cc/i846l

I finally got the Queen of Richmond booked for the 7th Anniversary trip. She'll be leaving Deas Dock at 9:35am on the 16th, and she's going to sail up Howe Sound to Squamish, across the Strait to Nanaimo, then up the Fraser River to Silverdale for Albion Ferry and Queen of Sidney photo ops, and lastly, back to Deas at about 10pm. Anyone who wants to come, raise your hand. We're not going to need any food supplied as BC Ferries has generously agreed to supply us with all you can eat sunshine breakfasts. Anyone who wants to come, raise their hand. We're going to need a full crew, as well.

Seven years, to match the 7 sisters.

There are a series of mountain peaks up near where Flugel is at the moment called the Seven Sisters. When we drove by them a couple years ago there were two sisters in our family, and I suggested to my wife that maybe we should try for 7... she wasn't so keen on it;)

Actually John H is referring to these mountains... These are the 'Seven Sisters' and are located near Kitwanga, which is about half way between Terrace and Smithers just to the south of Highway 16. PS: Happy birthday to our beloved 'WCFF'.

Nice photo. We never actually got to see them all like that as it was fairly cloudy.

Happy 7th, West Coast Ferries Forum!
From its humble beginnings on this date seven years ago, West Coast Ferries Forum has evolved into a community with a diverse membership base. As the years progressed, participation has steadily increased thanks to many of our dedicated contributors and the interesting discussions that take place.
We are one of the largest, if not the largest source of information on BC Ferries today. We have established a great rapport with BC Ferries and many of its crews all up and down the coast, making a lot of friends in the process. Input made here through discussion also helped with the recent newbuilds built by FSG for BC Ferries. We had the privilege to discuss with Markus, representing FSG, as well as other Flensburg residents who were interested in the ships being built in the fjord. We watched the ships take shape via live webcam, and when completed, we were constantly glued to the forum as members tracked their progress while en route from Germany to their new home at Departure Bay.
As a lifelong ferry geek, I simply cannot imagine life without the forum. Upon finding it, you realize you are not alone in your passion. And because of that, I have made a lot of very good friends here.
Thank you to everyone for making these seven years so exceptional.
Here's to many, many more!

Seven years... we've made it a ways for sure. Not just friendships within communities, but all up and down the coast we have seen them developing. In some cases, all over the world - we would have not been able to get to where we are today without each other. Well done, and thanks for many positive memories. Here's to seven years, and many more to come!

Cheers to us all on this Lucky 7th Anniversary!! I hope that things will only become better as we continue for another 7 Years. We have quite the unique community here at WCF and I hope to see it grow stronger in the next 7 years.
To close off, 'there are big ships and small ships, but friendship's the best ship.' ;D

Happy 7 years and a day to the forum! I've only been a member for a little more than a year, but to say the least, I've learned tons about the ferries. Some amazing photos have been posted, and some splendid stories have been retold. The trip on the Queen of Richmond yesterday was great, though we had to get some BC Ferries workers to crew the ship since only Coastal Skier and me turned up. I got some great pics, and apparently she's had some of her engine room renovated since the April 1st trip.

As one of the farther away crew, thanks to all who participate in the forum, the moderators and founding few. As one who grew up on the ferries and now separated by distance, the forum is a way for me to keep in touch with something that I love and another link to the coast. It has been fun, a few moments of frustrations, informative, and a good way to link.
Happy anniversary to all.

Wow, our forum's 7-year anniversary was almost a year ago. Must mean that "8" is coming up pretty soon.
