For this month, the flagship will be a photo that shows exactly two ferries. They can be from anywhere in the world. The usual rules apply.

I realize that the criteria is open to any 2 ships, but I am trying to have my 3 entries be of combinations that are unique or significant in some way. That's just my own personal intention. I see that others are doing the same thing.

This month, I decided to go all out risky and delve into the mysterious monochrome universe! Queen of Sidney and San Mateo, wasting away on the North shore of the Fraser River. A cliché shot of two ships in Active Pass. The Burrard Pacific Breeze and the NorEx in Burrard Inlet. I'm kicking myself for not finding an angle where I could shoot both the NorEx and the SotN (Spirit of the Nation )

Would that be rounding Tyee Point? Yes. I took the photo from near the then-highway above Horseshoe Bay.

I'm fairly sure that this will be my first entry this month, though I might end up choosing a similar shot or add some text but you get the idea... Queen of Saanich (now unofficially the Owen Belle) and Queen of Vancouver (ex City of Vancouver) @ Deas Pacific Marineimg12.imageshack.us/img12/2383/dsc0029www.jpg

:)this is a particularly good shot that you snapped at the horn of deas dock, how did you get this elevation of view? mrdot. Thanks, mrdot. The elevation was achieved here by climing one of the piles of sand / sediment on the adjacent lot that's dredged from the river and then used as preload for the foundations of developments in low-lying areas. I look forward to finding some time to briefly edit and then upload more from this set soon. Also of note from this set - I had been watching AIS tracking for our ' Vancouver and then rushed to Deas when I realized she was coming - was that they cycled-out the Queen of Capilano just ahead of this arrival, so I was able to capture those two passing as well though it's not as dramatic as the two lovely 'V's together, I find (for now, that is. I might eventually choose one of those shots to make into another banner to nominate for next month).

That's a really neat photo, Graham. Thanks for posting.
Minor correction however: That's the ex Queen of Saanich in the background. The Princess Jacqueline was already moved over to Port Alberni by the time the Saanich was retired.

It's been so long that I had forgotten which of our other two 'V's was still at Deas by that point. Certainly I should have looked closer for the telltale signs such as the drapes in the Forward Observation Lounge, etc.

Here's another nomination of mine, this time from today, of our Northern Adventure and the soon-to-be or already-is Lomaiviti Princess (ex Queen of Prince Rupert) at Deas: img818.imageshack.us/img818/5218/dsc0379www.jpg ...Again I might end up adding text, and possibly also might try a different angle for this nomination.

:)once again excellent shot, but boy does the livery scheme for the last stage of my QPR's career ever look dreadful! the last slug costume for her service life was far and away her worst with the high boot toping, which accented her worst feature, the short stubby hull freeboard. a lower hull line would have looked so much better, but might have ment moving the slugs to a less promenent position. the rebranded scheme actually looks better on the norad, which was a big improvement over her Greek owners scheme, but sorry mr Falcon, this is no northern caddelac! all that said, this is a good capture. :)mrdot.

Thanks, mrdot. - On a side note, it occured to me that this was likely the last time that these two vessels will have met before our QPR leaves for a new home.
