Your spell check should be in your browser. Both Google Chrome and Firefox have automatic spell checks.

A couple things from the mobile app:
1) When you quote someone, the text in the quote does not appear; and
2) a little less importantly, avatars for people's posts does not appear.
There are some other smaller issues, like longer lag/load times and a longer start time. I assume these issues will be rectified in an up-and-coming app update, as I'm sure this is a ProBoards issue.

Can we please merge my old account with this one? I cannot find any links to merge the accounts together or link them, and I really don't want to start fresh.

Nah, I just received a message from Coastal Skier, who reset my post count to the way it was. Apparently the new version has a few hiccups! Anyway, a big thanks to Coastal Skier for the fix! Much, much appreciated!

This seems like the original account to me. He has two accounts now actually (the login name for the old account is slightly different). It looks like someone on the staff may have added the post count from the old account to the new one. I don't think the 2 accounts can be merged together.

Kinda makes me think the folk at ProBoards should've thought this whole new software package out and kept a few old features the way they were! I had been using my Facebook account to log in since the day I registered almost three years ago (which, incidentally, uses the same e-mail address I just had to 're-register' with), and I wasn't getting anywhere. The ol' saying goes, "if it ain't broke..." should've applied here, but alas we're on a whole new boat now (pun intended!) If the old account can be merged with the PMs saved, great. If not, ah well, all we can say is we tried!

All creeping/stalking joking aside, does anyone know what happens when you select a member to "Follow" ?
I'm being followed a bit, but so far I haven't chosen to follow anyone else.
I'm assuming that whenever I post, my followers will hear my voice and will be drawn to their computers to see what I've posted.

Or maybe it's a following like this one:

So far, I prefer the old setup; it worked fine for me, and I thought it looked better and was easier to read, particularly how the quotes were boxed and highlighted. I'm not clear on how this one is an upgrade, but that's probably a technical thing that I'm not well versed in. And, being taken to the beginning of a thread even when you click under 'last post' is irritating.
And where's the 'preview' option when you're writing a post?

And, being taken to the beginning of a thread even when you click under 'last post' is irritating. And where's the 'preview' option when you're writing a post? I'm struggling with it too. For example on this here quote reply, it is styled as a "quick reply", and I didn't have the choice of the usual icons or buttons that a normal reply usually has. I can't do a smily face in a quote reply..........not that a smiley is important, but the quick-reply screen is pretty inadequate. Here's hoping that Proboards almost-ready version 5 slowly gets better. ================== Late edit: - I'm at my office computer, and even a normal reply looks blank & empty to me (none of the top-of reply icons available, such as IMG or URL tags, or that row of thingys). - From my home computer this morning, I thought I could see all of those row-icons on a regular reply. Strange. Hopefully it gets better. Hopefully we don't lose any members during the awkward transition.

The strange thing is that when I click the latest post links, they sometimes take me to that post, or as Neil is experiencing, takes me to the first page of that thread.

I think that Version-5 is better than Version-4, in the same way that Apollo 13 was a better mission than Apollo 12.
Or in the same way that New Coke was better than old Coca Cola, back in 1985.
Or in the same way that "After M*A*S*H" was a better TV series than "M*A*S*H
Hopefully it will get better. I deal with new software bugs and awkward transitions at work, and so here's hoping that hobby will be smoother....
ps: Please everyone keep using this here thread to share your "Hey, I just figured this out" moments, to share your questions/concerns, and to vent when you need to.
But it's really important for all of us to share what we learn about this V5, so that others can learn from each person's experience.
(and no spell check on this one, thanks V5)

...one more thing:
I was going to say that one good thing about the upgrade is the better Video posting icon, with the choice of various video hosts.
- But I can't say that now, because none of that stuff shows up when I use the forum at my work computer. Something is getting filtered out when I view from work.
So I've actually got nothing good to say about the V5 upgrade, so far. Unless it's nice to be "followed" by members.

Does anybody else use the WCF-Dark skin? I'm finding it really annoying that the text in the blue post is black and the green post is white. White would be preferable in both, I think.
Also, the most recent threads function doesn't seem to work for me. It loads up threads from 2006...
Other than that, the upgrade looks great! Much more modern looking.

So the merger went ok for me as far as I can tell. Maybe the AA and USAirways merger will go as smoothly...NOT.

Ok one new feature I like is the Recent Posts. I haven't counted the number of posts that are in that section but it appears to be more than the last 80 posts that was there before. I only follow the forum in the forum and don't get email notices of new posts etc. I just get too much information in my professional life to handle it from places like the forum. So sometimes I have a bit of catching up quickly to see what I missed. And lately Murphy's Law takes over and if I don't come into the forum for a few days, something good takes place I miss. I miss some of the old fireworks that used to take place haha. So hopefully if it is true that more gets saved on Recent Posts, it will enable me to keep up better .

Well the edit function is a little funky. Have to figure that one out. Yes I am the new member but thought that got fixed when it was merged? If an extra registration happened then it didn't go smoothly haha. Delete the female side of myself please

Delete the female side of myself please I'd love to delete that new account, but thanks to Version 5's new graphics that won't display on my work computer, I can't. Sorry, we'll all probably notice a slower reaction to removing spam and doing other housekeeping duties with this new version.
