A lot of us are attached to our forum usernames; we don't want to change them because we like them. And others like to change usernames like they change socks.
For those who like to stick with the classics, you might wonder "what if" regarding the clever possibilities of an alternate username. The kind of name that tells this niche audience that "I know my stuff, and you'll understand my name if you know yours."
ie. to show my rail interest, I could change my username to "Mile 113."
Or a west coast classic ferry fan could change to "PFS."
Or a political farce fan could have the username "Potable Water."
What are some other usernames that are clever in the obscure "you need to know your stuff to understand it" kind of way ?
What are some of the more cleverly obscure usernames that you've seen here already?

I already did mine. I started out as orcasnative, but when it was brought to my attention that Kahloke means "White Swan", it was obvious that was what I needed to change my username to. And, to honor the venerable old Blackball Ferry MV Kahloke, EGFleet sent me some great historical pics of her, one of which is my avatar.

Well, in my other life, I am a soccer referee, where I did pick up a new nickname - Mr. Hallmark!

If I lived on one of the small islands in Jervis Inlet, I could be "Islands Guy."

If I lived on one of the small islands in Jervis Inlet, I could be "Islands Guy." I think that'd suit me better... With my name the possibilities are endless!

While I'm in a picky & grumpy move (I'm reviewing sets of financial statements, today), let me ponder why people don't use a space-bar or shift-key when choosing & typing their forum username.
Don't they realize that if they want to make their name say "E State", then they've failed if it shows as "estate" ?
Don't people consider what a result looks like?

Shouldn't we be more concerned about what a member posts than their username choice? A lot of message boards never allowed spaces in their names, and a lot of people still think so.

I saw
I thought
I posted
You read
---------
A lot of our discussion is about aesthetics, and our displays are another detail thing that some of us pay attention to.
I posted because I noticed it, and thought it would be an interesting observation to share.
I still think that presentation styles, and issues surrounding them, are interesting. And unintentionally ambiguous things are even more interesting to me. And peoples reactions, are even more & more interesting to me.
Thanks for the entertainment.

And to specifically respond to Mr. Cassidy's comment, just because I make a comment on one item doesn't mean that I place it higher in importance than other issues. I just made a casual observation comment, and didn't realize that I was expected to sort it into some hierarchy of issues.

Thanks for the entertainment. With the new standard of "anything I think, can become a post", I suspect we'll see a lot more "entertainment" down the road.

Well... this is a thread about user names, so it seems reasonable that someone might make a comment about user names, no?
And, Mr Horn did warn that he was feeling a bit grumpy. He spends his whole day perusing the books of Widgets-R-Us. Let him vent if he needs to.
