Very likely heading to Kitimat to serve more or less the same purpose as did the Silja Festival about 10 years ago. This will be part of an LNG project, however. Last time it was for Rio Tinto's (Alcan) smelter rebuild project. Edit: Could be for worker accommodation at Cedar LNG. Its actually to be used for the same purpose at Woodfibre LNG in Howe sound.

Isabelle at anchor in English Bay this morning. I wonder if the refit at Seaspan will include a name change to Garibaldi III or perhaps Woodfibre Renaissance?

The Isabelle Floatel in the Vancouver Harbour, today.
She's been in Vancouver for a bit now, wondering why she hasn't left for her Northern destination? I had a brief mind cramp the other day, thinking that a ship like this "could" be used to house the homeless, but I realize a ship is NOT the optimal design for housing the 'masses'.

It’s supposed to get a refit at the Vancouver drydock, but they are still waiting for confirmation of the exact date and time.

If BCF could keep their vessels out of our drydocks perhaps the "Isabella' could get her make-over. \

This comment is based on information from a few years ago, but BC Ferries was the only fixed date user of the drydocks. I suspect that's still the case. While obviously there's an unscheduled visit here and there, I suspect scheduling issues don't really involve BC Ferries; heck we have enough corporate knowledge that we could quite accurately predict the Ferries drydock schedule into 2026, I bet!

This must be one of the largest lifts ever for the floating dry dock. Does anyone know the stats?

The good ship Isabelle as seen from a shoot this morning. From this and previous photos posted of the Isabelle, it's pretty clear that 'floatels' receive a different level of maintenance from cruise ships or 'cruise ferries'.

The Isabelle Floatelle has moved to the Lynnterm Terminal. I was officiating at Inter-River Park this morning, and could see her. Funny thing is that she looks bigger from there, than when I saw her Friday morning at anchor in Burrard Inlet.

The Isabelle has been renamed to "Isabelle X". I believe that the name change is because she is under the Canadian flag per Vesselfinder.

She is heading to a Nanaimo Anchorage. Either English Bay spots are all full, or it expected the stay will be over 14 days.

The Isabelle is now anchored in Nanaimo right at the end of Duke Point and along the paths of both route 30 and the Gabriola route.
