We have received about 40 cm of new snow over the past 24 hours here on the Inland North Coast. Winter just does not want to go away.
The average depth of snow now on my front lawn is over one metre.

Drove Golden-Vernon on Tuesday and home from Vernon yesterday after spending a few days in the rockies. Rogers Pass was clear sailing and provides some of the best scenery available! Okanagan Connector (97C) was completely covered the whole way to Merritt yesterday. Fortunately, it had warmed up on the Coq, as it was only slushy at the summit and snowshed and the rest was clear. Oh yeah, it's still Winter up in the mountains. I had the best 4 ski days in my life this past week at a Cat Skiing Lodge near Golden. Hard to believe this is their final week of the season.

Snow conditions are pretty good considering it is April. Grouse has extended their season by 2 weeks, however they will be operating limited hours from April 14th to April 26th when they close.

Washington has extended their season too. Easter Monday will be the final daily opening but will open for the weekends of April 18\19 and 25\26. Hours will be 1000h to 1630h. I like those hours because the angle of the sun will be similar when the clocks were on Standard time prior to March 8, the hours of 900h to 1530h.

Depends on your perspective, how full or empty your cup is. One thing's for sure: No matter the contents of your cup, snow makes for great ferry photography.

A couple of feet of snow is welcoming Winter 2009 to the east coast. Looking at the forecast, though, I think it is highly unlikely we will be treated to snow on the ground for Christmas...

SNOW IN FLENSBURG!I found a nice opportunity to capture and post this wintry image from the outside cam at FSG. I think those are icicles forming around the upper left area of the camera. Very beautiful with the magical lighting effects through the ice.
