To bad I didn't have a camera when I went to Stanely Park today. I saw the Garibaldi II coming into Vancouver harbour. A little bit later when I was heading up to the North Shore, I saw the Garibaldi II at the drydock from the Iron Workers Memorial Bridge. I forget the name of the dry dock, its right beside the Iron Workers Memorial Bridge.

I would like to confirm this, as I heard Vancouver Traffic talking to another vessle around 12:15pm this afternoon that the Garibaldi 2 was heading for second Narrows bridge.
The Name of the shipyard is Allied shipyard.

The Garibaldi did leave today, I was down at Darrel Bay, and there was no sight of the Ferry. The Ferry is supposed to go to Allied to get the Lower Passenger decks removed I believe. I'm a little bit confused now, as the crew member I talked to on the ferry on Wednesday told me the Ferry is staying up here. But according to todays local paper, she was to be delivered back to BC Ferries. Here's the online edition of the article, but most of it is about how the crew members of the Ferry don't get any severance pay. www.squamishchief.com/madison/WQuestion.nsf/SCnews/1D299DAAE4EA9F68882571340069F4AC?OpenDocument

So the Garibaldi is going to be fully owned by BCF. I wonder what they are going to do with it.

Uh, no it wasn't, it was leased out, in other words, rented out. Well, I suppose they could put her up with the Nimpkish on the Inside Passage route until a new ship comes.

The Garibaldi was always owned by BCF, it was just run by Harbour Ferries. But now I'm unsure as to who she's actually owned by now. The News says BCF, but the crew told me Harbour Ferries...

She is owned by bcf and bareboned leased to harbour ferries meaning the crew are not bcf crew and seniority means nothing if they want to get a bcf job
