I was just down at the Beach at Departure Bay and the Queen of Esquimalt was not there, anyone know where she went too?

Apparently she was taken to Langdale early this morning.

I'm guessing she'll start doing the triangle route again, unless there's going to be a ferry that's going to Departure Bay to get some work done.

apparently some crew will be renewing their lifeboat certificates on her as well, while she is their. She replaces the Alberni starting am shift, Apr. 18th.

Makes sense, seeing that the Langdale crews will be using her this summer.

Question: How come it's called the triangle run, when there's no direct Departure Bay-Langdale route? Maybe it should be called the "L" run instead.

Instead of the "L run", you could just call it "Route 7"
in a directional sort of way.....

Or you could call it Route 6 (Route 2 + Route 3) or you could call it the V Route

I wonder if there would be any traffic for an occasional, say once or twice a day, Departure Bay-Langdale run? Must be pretty inconvenient for anyone going from the Sunshine Coast to Vancouver Island right now. Might be an option when the new C's are delivered.

Must be pretty inconvenient for anyone going from the Sunshine Coast to Vancouver Island right now. Might be an option when the new C's are delivered. That would be great. ( my family all live on the Sunshine Coast while I'm in Nanaimo.) A few summers back when the Esquimalt was doing the triangle or "L" run, I travelled fro Langdale to HSB to Dep. Bay without getting off. Mid summer, I think on a weekday, and there were about 15 cars doing the complete trip. Hardly enough to warrant a special sailing. Especially at today's fuel costs. A fast Cat could do it in about an hour though.

Looks like from April 25-27th the New West is out of service and the Queen of Vancouver will be replacing her. So there will be the Queen of Vancouver and the Esquimalt on route 30 according to RBI and there is a revised schedule up for the route for those few days along with the Queen of Esquimalt will be on there for longer as she will be replacing the Alberni for a few weeks.

The Esquimalt is now back at Departure Bay. I will find out later this afternoon as to how long she will remain here for...
