Is it just me, or has the Cumberland been experiencing a lot of mechanical problems lately? Every time I check the "Actual Sailing Times," I always notice that the Cumberland is running about 10 minutes late due to mechanical delays. While were on the subject, the Cumberland's sister, the Capilano, is running 30-35 mins late due to traffic delays.

I think that BCFS is keeping the status the the Cumberland/Capilano's RAD-units under wraps. A few months ago (since January), I was aboard the Queen of Cumberland for one of these 'mechanical delays'; the 'Cumberland was 40 minutes late arriving/departing Swartz Bay, and once I was aboard, the captain announced that they were running late because they still only had 3 RAD units in the ship.

They better gte a hold of some new RAD units, lol. I always seem to find, when travelling the Gulf, which I do often enough to realise that the Cumberland is not the most reliable ship in Active Pass. In fact, I must admit, the Mayne Queen is probably the most reliable ship out there, closely followed by the Queen of Nanaimo.

I think theyve purchased new RADs, havent they? They might not have been built, but one step at a time lol.

they cannot purchse new rad units, because they are custom made for those vessels. and incredibly expensive.
