a car deck (4 rows each side with bow windows) was used as a civilian shuttle cargo hold. What ferry was it?

I'm guessing a Washington State Ferry ?

I wondered the same thing while watching. I am assuming the "Vancouver" as it is Tsawwassens #2 boat. It is defenatly a V class.

Looks like a V class to me. I can sort of see the port holes on the lowe vehicle deck like it's either the Vancouver or Victoria. Well obviously not the Victoria if it was 2003. hmm, that's interesting. But knowing how movies are made now a days it's probably a bunch of different ships to make one, lol! Seeing how the photo of the guy coming down the stairs in that photos the ship looks pretty nice and new!

Yeah, I'm thinking it's the Vancouver as well. I can see some sort of port holes on the side, that were probably covered up for the filming. The Esquimalt, and most likely the same with the Saanich, do not show that there were once windows there. It looks freshly painted down there too! That's pretty neat they brought a jet in there as well! Plus I love the fact they used a BC Ferry car deck as a cargo hold of some sort of Spacecraft.

Could be the following ships, the Queens of Vancouver, Nanaimo, Burnaby or Tsawwassen but when I first saw the photos I thought it was the Vancouver!

I think it might be the New West because in pic 9 you can see the light shining on the car deck and one of the lines looks like a red line. Only ships with those red lines are the Esquimalt New West and Coquitlam. Also the port holes on the lower deck are covered up. Looking at my photos of the New West at Duke Point I can sort of see them from the exterior where they were. Also no platform decks I can see on the car deck. That's what I think!

No Galley decks so that kills the B class. Also it was one continuous shot from coming down the stairs to the car deck.

Other boats here in Victoria, have been used for television shows also. The tv shows paid for the alterations to the boat--mainly paint jobs.
The Princess Marquerite was used in an episode of General Hospital, in the late 70's early 80's. This was when she was tied up in front of the wax museum.
MacGyver(1985-1992) used the Princess of Victoria(sister ship of the Marguerite) and painted it white---as it was used as a ghost ship. The filming was done in the off season, when the boat was not normally in use.

I never knew that about the New West though about the paint on the lower car deck although I havent been down to the lower car deck so I dont know. Like the previous post they could of painted it for the movie, but ya never know. The Tsawwassen has those port holes covered up but I dont think it is the Tsawwassen cause it looks like a bigger ship, could be the Vancouver maybe!

Well, I thought that Mac was talking about the original Galactica TV series, so I was interested......but he's talking about the 2003 remake ??
I liked it better when Starbuck was a guy...........
Am I the only person on this board who remembers watching the original? Any other members of the "rag tag fleet of ships" here on this board?

We're all too young. I was born when the series launched (78').

i used to watch it, as matter of fact I remember owning quite a few of the mattel? toys that it spun off. unfortunatly they eventually fell to the glory of firecrackers years later. I wonder what they'd be worth now...?
