There was a Staten Island Ferry Crash and here is the story Anthony Johnson is at the ferry terminal in lower Manhattan with more on what this means for commuters.
A lot of the people here didn't know that the accident had occured, and didn't know why all of the ferries were being delayed, so they had to wait for information from the P.A. system.
There was a tremendous amount of activity out here into the evening as people started to hear what happened, and tried to find alternate routes home. They had to hop on subways, and there were a lot of buses out here.
D.O.T. workers were here telling them about alternate routes home. But lines for the buses grew quite long.
Inside the terminal, it was absolutely empty, a very unusual sight for the height of afternoon rush hour.
But people have started to make their way home despite the delays, and now must await word on how this will affect the Thursday morning commute.
