Hi guys, I have just returned from a hike at Matheson lake near sooke, and it is a regional park in the middle of a forest, and has a path going right around it, and the trail joins the Galloping Goose at the Northern Section of the Lake, and of course we enjoyed the hike, and also had lunch at a beach. It was a fun trip.

WOW! Anyway, I went on a Canadian School District 63 bus, and then came back on a coach! Anyway, we had fun, and crossed about 6 bridges, the first was a wooden one with a banister on one side only, and instead of finding nashooks (Rocks Piled together) we made about 4 of them, on the bridge, then the longest was 5 minutes from the beach, a Viaduct, and that was a wooden boardwalk, with a wooden truss on the end. The beach was fantastic.

Good to hear it was a good hike. BTW did you know that Galloping Goose trail used to be a railway line? Canadian National Railway's Cowichan Subdivision. www.geocities.com/enrailway

Yes i know that very well my grandpa us to work on the CNR on the lsland He did? If you don't mind me asking what did he do? I have always been facinated about Canadian National's operations on the Island, now more than ever since I have just been hired by the CNR as a conductor.
