That's early. The Victoria 2005 cruise ship schedule wont be out till the Spring as it's still in the finalization process as I looked on their website. I read something about they are planning to add a 4th berth which I dont get because they already have 4 berths their but they have never had 4 ships at once at Ogden Point. Here is a link to the page www.victoriaharbour.org/cruiseship/index.htmLooks like the first cruise ship to be in the area is the Statendam which is going from Vancouve when she gets here to the Victoria Drydock according to the schedule. Also it looks like the season extends longer into October this year with the last ship, the Norwegian Spirit leaving October 25th compared to last year when it was October 2nd.

I went through all the major cruise lines and compiled a tentative cruise ship schedule for Victoria. I say tentative because there are some gaps in the schedules of some ships that may eventually be filled. So far, it looks like there's going to be about the same number of visits as last year. members.shaw.ca/a-lester/cruiseschedule.pdfEdit: Also, about the Ogden Point configuration: Yes. there are 4 spots that can be used for cruise ships, but they've only been using three for the last few years. A few years ago, one ship was already docked in one of the inner berths and another was coming in to the other inner berth. It was a very windy day and the one coming in blew into the other (I believe it was the Dawn Princess coming in). I think they've been sort of scared to try that again, so they only use one inner berth and the two outer ones. Last year, the Diamond Princess got away from the tugs in a strong wind and ran into the Ogden Point breakwater. I was listening to the tugs on my radio scanner when it happened, and I've never heard those guys so panicked! Anyway, if they do start using all 4 berths again, I'm sure they'll be careful and watch the wind speed. Do you know where you heard this?

Well, of course this WOULD happen. I just finished putting together a cruise ship schedule for Victoria, and now they put up schedule. I was close. I had 138 visits, but there will actually be 148.
