My friend in Norway - Pal owns and runs this site. Go to the left hand side and you will see the english. Pal is a pure enthusiast on anything to do with Ferries and Cruise ships. You will know that most Cruise lines comes - goes to Norway and Pal and his friends takes some great pictures. Worthwhile checking out. Norway is very much BC - the coast line is the same - they have wooden houses like in BC and the Pop. figure is the same. 4.2M in BC Norway has 4.5m There is around 150 Ferries working in Norway. Pal runs his site for free. Now if we can do something like what he has done - with regards to the picture level - then it would be great. www.stp-norway.com ps Karl you will like the site - as he is also into planes.

cascade, Refering back to your past posts, how likely do you think the "Stavanger" will see B.C. waters? www.stp-norway.com/Rutebaater/Stavanger/Also, how involved is your comany in the bidding process? Was a full RFP (Request For Proposals) put out by BCFS? I was quite surprised to hear you mention that *all* BCFerries routes had been put out through Lloyds (or whoever it was that you mentioned).

BCFS - put out the tender via Lloyds and other "Trade Press" outlets. Therefore we were surprised to see & hear that the "local" press had not picked up on it.
Looked and sounded like a way to keep the "bad" news out of the hands of the local unions ect...
Maybe another reason was that to see if anyone in the "World" ferry market would be interested in any of the routes - which would then comply with the wishes of the Ferry Act and parts of the agreement that BCFS has with the Ferry Commissioner.
As for our plans we are in details talks with BCFTA - and NO we are not going to be a "third" party operator within BCF. We can apply for our "own" license to run a Ferry system - we just need a license from the "owners" of the terminal - so we can operate from them. We don't in theory need - nor want anything to do with BCF.
As for the Ferrycat 120 - yes it would be used on three of the routes we are interested in.

Thanks for the info I wonder if the local media would still be surprised by that info, or if they know it and are being instructed to not go public with it, as we are in the middle of a provincial election campaign (well, more like the end, the election is on May the 17th).

Only a weak to go before we know for sure if BCF will still be privite or go back to public in the next year all depends on the party
