I know this really has nothing to do with ferries or ships, but what's going on with Jetsgo? They all of the sudden packed up their stuff and cancelled all flights and grounded all planes. What kind of company that advertises you to fly with them just all of the sudden closes down for no specific reason. Imagine if BCF did that. That would make all of the citizens of BC spit fire and nails at BC Ferries.

they wont be gone. they will probably do the same thing Air Canada did, and hold onto bankruptcy protection for a while and continue to run.

it probably wont. i think it was the fcc that said shape up, or we will cancel your liscense, and the guys at jetsgo said they didn;t have anymore money for repairs. so they went bankrupt.

Well of course they would have to blame WestJet. Just cause they cant keep up with WestJet dosent give them the right to blame them. I know Air Canada and Jetsgo had an incident with WestJet. Maybe they shouldent slash fares so low they cant even keep up with it. WestJet is awesome airline, my favorite. As I call it, their the pride of the West! Will be and looking forward to flying WestJet at the end of next month.
A few things about Jetsgo lately was their saftey record. They were restricted to only 28000 feet which flying at a lower altitude uses more fuel and takes longer, they almost skidded off a runway in Calgary damaging the runway lights, left debri on the runway in Toronto, an engine quit inflight. Somewhere I heard a flight attendent was in the back praying when that happened, dont know if that is true or not. But still I read reviews online and all of them were negative about Jetsgo. I dont think they are coming back and there would be no point anyways as no one will ever fly them anyways.
I see, well used to see Jetsgo in Victoria and the recently I saw one of their planes come in and the top of the fuselage the paint was all coming off so looking at that one plane I kind of wondered how good they look after their planes.
I think now that make Air Canada look much more better than Jetsgo. Still is sad to see them go though!

when you sell seats on a flight for $1.00 you can't make money, especially when you have to pay crew. jetsgo is done. air canada filed for bankruptcy protection to help keep the creditors at bay. jetsgo filed for bankruptcy. they will not be back ever as jetsgo.

OK - then what about Zoom. We have it flying from the UK into a number of different canadain airports and they do get out West. Does anyone remember Nation Air - from way back in the late 80's - took that plane a few times. Had to stop in Iceland - for fuel - never took them again and guess what they went bust also.
Had a look at the number of landings and take offs from Victoria Airport - "plane movements" - that is very impressive - ave is around 4,000 per month.

Restructing their finances to protect as many assets as possible, that's all.
