Has anyone seen the ferries in TTD and TTDPatch? (TTD: MPS Passenger Ferry, Bakewell 300 Hovercraft and the FFP Passenger Ferry) (TTDPatch: Fincariti ferry, Liner, Hovercraft) I was wondering, why not have vehicle ferries? Like BCFerries 'V' Class, and 'S', and some minors too,(Mill bay, Nimpkish, Klitsa, Bowen, QCumber and Cappie and Quinsam types. p.s I know there is the Shivershake Passenger ferry, but that is toyland, I am involving ferries not in the Toyland.

The ferries in TTD don't make much money at all. Ferries only work for short & high capacity routes. You're better off reclaiming the land and putting an airport where the water used to be.
There couldn't be vehicle ferries in the game because there's no way for a cargo truck to load onto a ferry. You would have to create another commodity called vehicles and have ferries that had a max capacity for vehicles and passengers.
The soul of the game is trains! Aircraft make a lot of money, but for me the most fun in the game is designing huge rail networks that sprawl the map and putting dozens of trains in the system and watching it in action and constantly improving it.
Have you played Locomotion? It's the spiritual sequel to Transport Tycoon. It's a fun game, but I had a bunch of trouble passing later scenarios so I haven't played in a couple months. Still very fun and there are more ferries in it too.
I like the idea of ferries in a game like that, but only as a game had a larger transportation simulation aspect as a whole. If I was a better programmer, I'd make West Coast Ferries - the game. You could have your own transportation company, build facilites, build/buy ferries, create routes and go against the competition.

No I haven't even got Locomotion, Maybe TTD2 could have realistic graphics more like Locomotion, and cars on the roads like Simcity, use the same cheats in TTD, but more Trains, Aircraft and Road Vehicles too! Sort of like Industrial Giant 2 I'm considering, but Passenger Transportation in it too.

Locomotion is TTD2. They're both Chris Sawyer games.

it's like $15.00 at EB (Woodgrove Centre). Save up some pop cans and buy it when you have a chance. Chris Saywer is a computer game god and deserves your money.
Transport Tycoon Deluxe is a transportation simulator. It was released originally in 94 and looks similar to Sim City 2000. You are the owner of a transportation company and you build an empire using trains, trucks, planes or boats (cargo, oil or ferries). The best part by far as I've said before is the trains. You transport commodities produced at their source (mines, forests, factories etc) to processing facilities or consumers (Steel Mills, Lumber Yards, Cities etc). You can also transport passengers in ferries, busses, planes, or passenger trains.
Chris Sawyer is the same person who created Roller Coaster Tycoons 1 & 2 (not 3). He started making a sequel for Transport Tycoon in 1998, but fell in love with roller coasters and used his new train engine (no pun intended) to use as a roller coaster simulator. After two successful versions of that game, he returned to his roots and made Locomotion. Locomotion is more complex than TTD and is way more detailed. I highly suggest playing the original (I'll look for my copy and let people know if I can get it to them) before playing the new one as you'll appreciate it more I believe.

I was thinking TTD2 to look more like Industrial Giant 2, but with passenger transport modes (Buses, Passenger Trains, Ferries, Airplanes, e.t.c)

I like RCT3, and 2, 1 could have some more additions, like the P.N.E rides, Chairswings, Baywatch and the Revelation.

Maybe it's a sign you should pay money for it.
TTD2 = Locomotion
RCT3 isn't a Chris Sawyer game.

From Chris Sawyer's personal website
"The long-awaited sequel to Transport Tycoon, Chris Sawyer's Locomotion, was finally completed and released through Atari in October 2004"
A name isn't everything.
And by pay money for it I mean go to the mall, put $20.00 on the counter and ask for Locomotion. Take the purchased software and install it on your computer nice and legal.

I'll get some screens of the game tonight. My current scenario has no water, so I'll make a lake and put some ships on it.
