I think you can do it in a day but I'm not sure how long it would take.

Our trip we are planning three nights in the states then coming back up from Wenatchee to Osoyoos hopefully or maybe we could get farther, I dont know, and now I thought maybe we could head up to revelstoke and take the Galena Bay ferry on the way up, then back to Kelowna from there then home! As we would have 4 night to spend in the Okanagan!

So you would go Osoyoos to Vernon on Hwy 97: this is a "family day length", ie a family would find this a full day, in summer heat, with summer traffic, with Kelowna bridge traffic-jam.
Vernon to Needles is maybe 2 hours.
Fauquier to Galena Bay is maybe another 2-3 hours. Ferry trip will take say 30 minutes, plus wait. Shelter Bay to Revelstoke is another hour.
I suggest a 2-day trip: stop-over in Vernon for the night.

We would actually go from Osoyoos along highway 3 up that way and go north not south! Has anyone been south from Osoyoos to like Wenatchee?? Just wondering how long Wenatchee to Osoyoos would be cause where we stay depends on how far we can get from Wenatchee cross the border and we could make it past Osoyoos that day to maybe Castlegar but I am not sure! Then go up from there to Galena Bay then stay in Revelstoke! Something like that!

Ok, now I know your route:
- Osoyoos to Castlegar: this is 3-4 hours maybe, thru a couple of mountain passes. Blueberry-Paulson pass is my favourite, because of the bridge over the gorge.
- Past Castlegar, you turn north along slocan lake, and get to New Denver, maybe an hour for that.
- New Denver, to Nakusp, and up to Galena Bay.....maybe another hour there.
So, a day sounds do-able. However, you being from the coast (just like me), you are going to be visiting one of the other beautiful parts of the province, and so you want to be un-rushed, and enjoy the scenery, and not be clock-watching. Slocan lake is nice. You can soak up Doukhobour history in Castlegar at the village-museum and at Verigin's tomb. Nakusp is one of the prettiest towns in all of BC.
So much to see. I am jealous of your trip. !

Well we have actually been along highway 3 a few times when we have come back from Alberta! We have been up to Nakusp too last year when we took the Needles ferry! We havent been north up the rest of the highway and taken the Galena Bay ferry and then up to Revlestoke, we have been there too! I guess I should know the times having driven highway 3 many times!
This is the whole outline of our trip!
We leave August 19 on the 11:20am sailing to Anacortes from Sidney on the Elwha! From Anacortes we are driving to Keystone and we will take the Port Townsend Ferry across and then we will drive to Port Angeles and stay that night in Port Angeles! Then the next day we leave and drive highway 101 I think it is up and around that little circle tour route down by forks, aberdeen, see some of the coast and then hopefully we can get to Astoria Oregon which looks like a neat little town. Then the second night would be there! From there we drive a north a bit on I5 then go East and we are planning to stay in Wenatchee that night which will be the third night! Then from there we drive from Wenatchee up to the border and either come out by Osoyoos on highway 97 or another crossing which is east of that that comes out by Grand Forks! Might be better to do that one if we are going north from there! Depending how late it is we could stay in Osoyoos or Grand Forks or Castlegar, then drive up the next day and do the day trip taking the Galena Bay ferry then another night in Revelstoke, back down to Kelowna for a night then back home to the coast! That's the trip! Only 3 nights in the States, but that is the thing we have 4 nights to stay in the Okanagan so instead of spending it just in the Kelowan Penticton area I thought the Galena Ferry route would be neat!
